Luckily my dad is an IT professional, so he generally gets the queries; not that there are too many, just a few. Which is nice. Of course, I always am asked by my mum "It's asking me to click something!" or "Why don't I have any sound?" to which I reply "You clicked on the wrong icon" or "You quadruple-clicked". To solve these problems, though, I changed her wallpaper to some text ("CLICK TWICE ONLY!!!") and some big arrows pointing to the icon. It works.
True, but the information is already out there. People can google for it if they want. You are simply charging for the time it took to find this knowledge and put it together.
And open source projects are written becuase the _PERSON_ wants to, not because they've been asked, and there is no obligation to do it.

Then, surely, they'd have to export this (and probably loads more URLs) to many many libraries all over the place... it'd probably be easier to just change the domain for them.
Although, if you think about it, if that person visits web sites they'll log that he/she's using Linux and the percentage of Linux users will rise, meaning that developers will see that Linux is gaining popularity etc...
The point being made above was that although MS apparently loses money, MS don't care. If a developer doesn't want to make a game for all formats and wants to sell the most copies they'll look for the one with the larger user base. It doesn't matter WHAT it's used for; for MS that's just another user to push to the developers.
Is everyone bored today or something?

There is Norton Commander for DOS (used it when I was 8 or something to delete a long-filename program in Win 3.1...) and I guess Windows Commander is a Windows version.

Hmm... perhaps you should have intercepted a few of her pay cheques... I virtually guarantee that'd stop that happening in the future ;).

Is this a troll? OpenOffice.org has a graphical installer which is easier to use than Office's. No compiling required.

1) Get Windows everywhere
/me puts on some asbesdos.
2) Start to lose Windows for Linux
3) ???
4) Loss of profit!
Sory, couldn't resist...
Damn you
It was a Win95 program which didn't tell you and didn't make any checks - the only thing I could use was Norton Commander.

Even this isn't too much of a problem

Again, I've tried posting this from Linux/Moz, WinXP/Moz, now WinXP/IE... Only this one works...
