It is a retailer warranty. It only applies as Apple sells something directly to consumers.
In other cases, other retailers have to get Apple to fix the stuff, but Apple isn't directly liable.

"Tacky that his first point is that Flash is proprietary, when Apple restricts the apps that can be installed on the phone. Pot, meet kettle."
A bit unfair in the resume as Steve Jobs does address this point in the letter:
"we strongly believe that all standards pertaining to the web should be open. Rather than use Flash, Apple has adopted HTML5, CSS and JavaScript – all open standards. "
I, for one, do see the point of that and it has been mentioned here before that from the start iPhone, iPod touch en iPad web browser are not restricted.
This follows the same logic I see with Google. Keep the internet as unrestricted as possible and that open pltform will bring the best things for the most users.

In this case I would like to say: put up or shut up. There is no way that there are any "Windows NLE's that rival FCP in features and undercut it in price". None, nada, nothing.
If you sincerely believe this to be the case I would advise you to check the features of Final Cut Studio: http://www.apple.com/finalcutstudio/finalcutpro/
I think that a Windows package with features at par with Color alone would be a thousand dollar.

When 14 or so people were to be moved to adjacent building, it was my job (ITmanager) to make sure they had all there network services.
So I asked for wires to every room and one wireless spot in the middle, the DECT repeater in the hallway not far off was enough to get good reception in every room.
A week before they change places I checkt the new cables, new fiber to the spot, the wireless, it all works.
The day they move, I get scrambled calls about the wireless not working properly and the phones even worse.
What happened? The last day the creative head decided everybody needed one or more magneticly painted walls so they can hang work/memos/etc without having leaving little holes in the wall everytime.
So I needed a new DECTrepeater (and new cables from the PABX, which would have cost a little extra when the fiber was laid in place; but now costs as much for the work) and even now 3 rooms down the phone service isn't great, wireless in those rooms sucks.

It's still sad that the European headquarters moved from Brussels to Paris.
Now the (european) Apple expo is held in Paris and is therefor deeply french, which leads to the UK and the Netherlands (and maybe others, I don't know) having their own unofficial apple expo's. Having stayed in Brussels, maybe the expo could have been held there and be truly European.

Also I don't mind waiting for the trash to empty or for stuff to move to the trash
(but that's probably because it's been like that all along and it's a stage where you can still get an error (file in use, no permission))
Exposing the package items when copying I think reveals to the user that an application is made of several items,
I doesn't hurt the user to know that.

I heard/read that story too but with a bit more information on why he did. As he had "pirated" the mac group, previously not believing in it, there was a lot of resentment from outside (because he now favored mac project) and inside (some didn't want him as their boss), even so that some scratched his car. So he parked in full view in front.
