    you could print to PDF, and use acrobats signature tool to indicate date and time with a checksum

    if you modified the page, it would invalidate the 'signature' stamp.. if nothing else it would be proof that that verison
    existed at that date and time.. wouldn't it?

    never on my SD tivo box (dual tuner direct-tivo) would they be able to remotely disable the ability to view shows I already saved!

    so many things have happened that I would never have believed before (patriot act, DMCA etc)

    tivo can adjust your programming on the fly.

    if the broadcast flag every gets tossed into the FCC's ring- you can be damn sure that some content owner will sue, and force the 'flag' applied retroactively to tivo content.

    REALIZE THIS: Tivo has the ability to program wise do anything to that box they want to
    they also keep track of EVERY TIME YOU PUSH A BUTTON .. they maybe don't WANT to delete a show off your box against your wishes, but they sure as hell are able to.

    re; your #1, auto-nerf the monster player. Constantly monitor the former NPC role abilities and powers based on location.

    If they wander down to the level one area/levels, reduce the monster level to level 3, if there are 40 of them within a certain space (on-screen together) , make them level one or even negative levels of ability.... or make them cross-attackable if they are too densely in an area..

    If the monsters abilities are tied to the region, the motivation to go grief a bunch of beginners fails.

    Older systems can connect to newer hard drives.

    for howe long, the timeline the GP indicates "you're better off using that new machine that can handle 100 times the data " is easily read as literal,

    an original XT with a 20 megabyte hard drive could also take a 40.. but it wasn't ever going to work with a multi-gigabyte drive.

    look backwards..
    if google had been supported by XT's, 1000's of them.. and then the next wave of hardware, 20 gigabyte hard drive. came out- or, sata, or sas, or usb....

    At the point when one machine can replace 10 older ones in terms of storage capacity and processor capability, I don't think you'd find the older system capable of running current 'then' spec hard drives.

    I was really loving your post,. feeling the energy, until the 4th paragraph, third line, 2nd word.

    why is it, anytime someone glorifies or expounds, or shares joy, on the program known as PowerPoint, I immeditely think PHB or mid-level flunky, or stupid meeting or InDuhVidual..

    I like, and use, and appreciate office. I bought a license to SBS just because I wanted to edumacate myself on server, exchange, and other pffoce features... it's a hobby for me. However, I launch powerpoint NEVER after having used it once to see what it could do.

    I have occasionally used the PP viewer- when forced to view somthing. I can't help but believe and think anyone who generates PP stuff regularly must be miserable, yell at their spouse, kick their dog, and have drug using children..

    yoich.. does anyone else share this vehement hatred for it, and not the rest of office?

    and I can cut the spine off a book, and feed it through the scanner, and turn it into searchable PDF PDQ

    I do this to search books for specific text.. research.. I haven't shared any files, but I'll bet I could have a new harry potter book scanned in & trackerable before stores even opened on the west coast...

    every been to an emergency room and "can't" pay?

    first level- go with weak conditions, a 'cough' you'll wait for over 12 hours-maybe 24, lots of people will not go for weak conditions/issues and these can develope into more sever conditions. (like, TB)

    second level- recieve a diagnoses of something chronic and treatable but expensive, they'll give you a diagnosis and prognosis and send you on your way- they will not include a remaining lifetime supply of meds or treatments

    third level- can't pay, still get billed, fail to pay as indigent, and never recover financially, from the black mark on your credit report.

    fundamental is not enough for it to be basic healthcare.
