Orb.com works for me. Runs on windows, sees my hauppauge PVR-250 on Vista Home. It runs an agent in the background, you access "your pc" via mycast.orb.com. From there you can stream mp3s, photos, and an interactive tv guide that lets you watch live channels, set to record shows, or watch previously recorded ones. No ports have to be opened on your router. It tests your bandwidth automatically and has a mobile browser layout that I can stream on my touch pro 2.
Well - didn't they say its a game mode? As in people who want randomly generated maps can play that mode while others (like myself) will play 2fort4 until our mouse wears out.
I actually played City of Heroes before I played WoW. CoH was probably the easiest MMO I have ever scene. Not to say it wasn't fun I only cancelled it because I spent too much time / money on it. When I got into WoW I was overwhelmed by how much extra complexity there was compared to CoH. I never felt like starting over/rerolling in WoW as I did in CoH. WoW succeeds because of all the options they offer...
I need to get off slashdot, the more I see WoW news I want to sign backup. I've been clean for over a year now.
I think console's offer more variety of types of games, but the reasons he listed were aweful. Backwards Compatibility is only half done on 360 and wii. Cheap! PS3 is $600, you can buy a gaming dell computer for $700. The original Xbox has only been out for 3-4 years I believe, you are still paying an extra $400 - $500 for a new console as you would a new video card. The PC is also an operating system, I'm not going to go into what a computer can do after all this is slashdot, you get your money's worth right there.
This was more of a push to get xbox live and a 360, ps3 is too expensive, the wii is interesting but until it is out I am holding my judgement, and xbox live gives you demos, well so does the internet!
I think there are a lot more developers for consoles which give you more games and more variety, but the writer wanted to make a top ten list when only 3 or 4 were valid.
Its the most basic form of communication next to pen and paper. Even a phone call is more socially complicated. You can not call during certain hours, it allows for attachments in the digital age, I can be in my boxers as I type what I want to say (as I am now) which rules out video phones. Its simply the easiest way to get a message to someone fast. Anything more advanced or featureful will simply be overkill when I just need to give someone a yes or no response.
Considering that its advertised on Slashdot it should help things out. Also considering it was advertised in a magazine, the computer challenged will simply skip it and pick up a year old edition of highlights.
I wouldn't mind the toonish look if I didnt have to put on masks and throw twigs. Cell shaded games can be adult as long as nintendo takes out the wind boats and masks. Invader Zim had a very adult tone with cell shaded action scenes.
Why were they saying that the FBI hates to give out details on how they managed this 'rare triumph?' They had an informant and looked at email and message logs... Not exactly ground breaking detective work.
I've been playing for around 4 years now. I can play any Vai or Satriani song out there (I mainly only play Satriani though). But I am at the point now to where I'm musically retarded. You are lucky if I know 3 chords and 2 scales. I also suggest learning theory. A great site for lots of info on theory is

They have beginner to advanced theory, concepts, ideas, you name it.

Isn't that what Windows CE is suppose to be for?

Umm, even if DVDs came out before the theatre releases people will still pirate movies if prices dont come down.
Bah - what happened to SuperDisks ?

Am I too late to respond with the obvious... is it $0.30 (US) per liter or $0.30 (US) per litter ?
If you crash into another car, do you get to steal the car's pellet and absorb its power?

Is there a difference between consoles and PCs anyhow? The PC is just like another console, but more 'open source.'

The latest Catwoman had nothing to do with Batman.
Hopefully Bruce Willis will still be around...
