  1. Keeping my Ipaq 3600 w/AT&T CDPD wireless... on T-Mobile Sidekick Reviewed · · Score: 1

...beleive me I was the first to drool over the Tmobile's specs, I know it doesnt have a color screen, but isnt Msoft coming out with a slimmed down OS for Kyocera phone with CE built in? Like others have said, if you cannot synch with the desktop, its not really that usable. I think I'll wind up staying with my ipaq 3650 and my Aircard 300 and if I need it, snap on my little thumb keyboard. Only 19.2K on a good day, usually 9600 for data, but its $50 unlimited data per month through AT&T CDPD. That and a cheapie Nokia until an all-in-one device which isn't a Palm OS comes out. Tmobile's Pocket PC/phone looks good, too, but another $500 ipaq?

I know they lose about $30-90 on each unit they sell, but now with more modded units they put more R&D into making the new Bios, changing routines, code, etc. Like everyone else says, more time and the hackers will beat this, it just puts them one step back.

I think it's a great centrally-located database for all BBSs domestic and international. I have a link on ssa bbs to it, since I think its good that people sign on and register where they used to call. The bbs community might be smaller than it was, but it'll never die. My old bbs was up in like 1982 on a c64 running a whopping 300 baud and had "high speed" of 1200. Gez, Cnet software, what a blast from the past. How far we have come with technology. lol Now, I run a 4-port SynchroNet bbs at telnet://ssabbs.com for old-times sake and some networked message boards.

I remember being at the WTC the weekend before 9/11 and calling a friend of mine who joined me for that trip to WTC and then the South Street Seaport for dinner. I had been in the towers before, but couldn't accept the fact that they both were gone. Looking up into the sky along the side of the buildings from the ground, they seemed like they were permanent. Sad that other people's ways of life are so against the Western worlds'. Some people say its because of the US's involvement in the middle East, others for our foreign policy in general, some say for jealousy of what a great country the Citizens of the USA enjoy living in. For whatever reason good vs. evil, East vs. West, Islam vs The World, whatever it might be considered, we bear the loss of fellow humans, friends, loved-ones in a terrible, cowardly act against freedom and what we beleive in.
