Just for the record: the Plus *was not* able to run it at full speed. I know, because I had one - and I always lost against those darn Mac II users who were simply faster...;)
It is touchscreen. Inout is done with a stylus (or finger) using the dreadful grafity 2.0 software. Which is okay after you get used to it. Takes about a week.
a nice UI to addresses, a datebook, TODOs, and misc-menus are something that many cellphones don't do that well.
Real cell phones do that quite well. E.g. Sony Ericsson's P800/P900 devices are great organizers. I know, because I haven't been using my good ol' MessagePad 2100 since own one: clicky
c) reminds me of the early days of Mac OS X. I guess there were about as many developers with NeXT knowledge as there are now with Newton skills. *sigh*
Personally, I use four mouse buttons: the usual three plus a fourth one to activate Exposé. That is so handy, I really don't understand why Apple still sell one button mice.
The first thing I did when Safari was released was removing the brushed metal interface. Soon afterwards I realised that a white interface looks pretty bad ontop of a (mostly) white web page - thus I changed it back and lived happily ever after.
Vektor 3 sports a game analysis feature - it's not exactly what you'ree looking for but maybe it could still be a useful thing for learning better chess.
Anyway, it's probably the best-looking chess software ever and always a pleasure to use.
When buying a Mac you can choose between two things: CD burner or DVD burner. That should be about as much "standard removable cross platform convient AND GLOBALLY AND UNIVERSALLY ACCEPTED removable media" as you could ever need (until 2005 that is).
Yes. :-)
And an Xbox. Halo 2 will be out there soon.
Because it's compiled that way?
We're gonna know for sure when it hits the shelves (of our favorite torrent trackers).
If you don't like in-ear phones, you might want to try the Koss Porta Pro. Excellent thingy!
It creates random noise that is then fed into the Seti project so our computers have something to do in times without activity.
Bang for the buck would make the Apple system better.
Sure, but what would you rather say: "I just bought an Apple computer" or "I just bought a Cray computer"?

That company is called Friendtech. Find out here.

Everyone who ever tried installing OS/2 beg to differ... ;-)

Interesting collection... *shudder*
I am. Guess that's got something to do with the country I am living in. European law seems to be pretty relaxed about those issues.
AFAIR dd also duplicates the factory defects and the grown defects lists when used on whole drives - pretty bad behaviour for different hard disks...
Why not wire your G5 to a machine that does? If you're serious about that ANSI thing, a missing serial port won't stop you, will it? ;-)
Why the hell would you want to help Sun anyway? To have a decent and free office software running natively on OS X. That's why.

The End.PerHaPs.

...but also other Symbain OS phones like Sony Ericsson P800/P900 and Motorola a920/a925.
Why not all of Europe?
Well, probably, because they could not agree with the record companies. That's why.
