Some of the things that paying customers have to go through in order to use software they've paid for may drive them to piracy. It's unbelievably annoying to be punished for being a legitimate user of software.
AFAIK, WoW is free with a 10 day trial period. Just find someone with the media and a guest pass and you're all set. Now, if you want your own copy of the media and documentation to keep, then that's going to cost you about $15. [figuring that the rest of the charge goes to the 30 days of subscription time that are included.]
Seems to me that the people who are(would be) recieving these vouchers are the last ones that need to maintain access to TV. TV is not an essential item. If a person wants to maintain access to TV and is unable to afford it then they should go out and do additional work so that they can afford it. Not sit around watching TV paid for with MY tax dollars.
The Government does not need to help pay for televisions or tv equipment. Access to TV is not an essential item. Having the Goverment buy the TV keeps prices artificially high. Free Market forces need to take care of this "problem". When the equipment is affordable, people will buy it. If someone can't afford to buy the TV and they really want it then they should go out and work for it and not just sit at home with their government provided TV.
The a la carte approach is one step in the right direction of not subsidizing channels that I do not ever care to watch (any religious network or music tv). But even with that improvement I'm still faced with networks which carry shows I do like perhaps once per week, but the rest of the week I wouldn't watch that network.
Better still would be if there were ways to let individual users in a household pay for the programming they want to see. That way if the wife wants to watch some awful programme I can be happy knowning that *I* didn't have to pay for it.
If one is going to consider the impact of this legislation on drunken driving then it is important to note that while on one hand people may decide to cork the bottle after one drink, others may buy the bottle, no longer fearing the waste of the unused portion, and drink the whole thing and drive home sloshed anyway.
Personally I don't think the law will have much, if any, impact on drunken driving. That depends much more on the responsibility of the drinker.
to date, none of those razorblades in trick-or-treat apples events have occurred. I'm thinking it would have something to do with it being rather difficult to insert a razorblade all the way into an apple, much less to do so in a way that it would not be glaringly obvious.

I want to see if they might be interested in getting bit parts for some of the people {including me, of course} who were involved with the development of third party utilities. Would that be cool or what?

"It rests on parents' shoulders to show their kids the awesome things in this world."
Prolly better that it's not one of the parents showing them "the warmth of lovemaking".
Then we'll really know if it works.

How does one display "half a pixel"?
I'm guessing greyscale, but still the idea of half a pixel strikes me as somewhat funny.
ps. Kudos to the person who posted the "." as a substitute for a link to the image. You made my day.
They won't serve them at a Sushi bar, but you might be able to get one at an h-bar.
Ok, that was bad. Hope I don't have to walk the plank.

I think you have that sideways...
Seagate drives have always sucked. I've hurled more dead seagate drives down the concrete path than any other brand of hard drive.
