Personally, everyone born in this country should be fingerprinted and have their DNA on record. Those who really think it's a privacy issue, well, should move elsewhere. Being able to identify your population at a moments notice would be helpful.
You could use your print to identify you in almost every circumstance. As far as a library requiring fingerprints - I'm all for it. Don't like it? Go use a PC somewhere else. You still have your own freedom of choice.
Didn't Novell stop being anything worthwhile a few years back? Oh wait, they're clining to SUSE now or something, aren't they? So, again, they stopped being anything worthwhile....
No - people have died because THEY assumed. Does it say anywhere that 911 service is provided? Or for that matter, does it say anywhere that it wasn't part of their VoIP packages?
It's part of the reason that VoIP is a nice addon, but I'll always have a basic phone in my house (in addition to every member having a cell phone). I'm sure they would be suing their broadband/isp provider if their cable/dsl/dialup were down, and couldn't make a 911 call.
Oh, wait - I'm sure the FCC made provisions for that....wait, nm...it's the FCC>
Yeah right - like you would ever buy pr0n when you can just hit a torrent site and download it to your hearts content. We all know you were at Walmart for tissues and crackers.
Yeah...right. That's like saying you bozos here at Slashdot don't moderate down people who actually make comments in favor Microsoft and stuff. Yeah, that never happens. Funny that. It's OK when that happens (or Taco ignores new, non-duped stories, because they are on topics he doesn't deem good enough or that put companies like MS in a positive light). Go ahead, keep calling the kettle black...
I don't know about you, but I have something plugged into just about every input hole on my TV, and I hate switching cords around.
Guess you've missed all the neat switches you can buy for about $20 that will let you have the switchbox plugged into your TV, and all your game consoles/computer plugged into the switchbox, and just push a button.
No wonder the world thinks of us as slouches - too lazy to push a button. Man....
They aren't harming your network, though. They are sending you bad data for something you may, or may not (more than likely may not knowing people here on Slashdot), have rights to download/upload/share.
Funny - back when I was in school, we earned our grades - thus, no need to change them. Seems that only those who didn't want to excel had to find ways around the system to keep themselves from failing. Ah well, those people who cheat and steal, in the end, will get theirs. The rest of us who didn't do thise things can always tell ourselves we're better than people like you.
Wow - posts like this one weren't to be expected. Again, when will you realize that when other OS' become worthwhile to write virii for, then you'll start seeing more and more of them, or are you really THAT naive?
'Only question now is not if but when will Linux become the number one OS on earth?'
Soon as it becomes easy enough to diagnose and fix problems that a home user can control. Oh, and when there's enough game software out there that s equal or better than the game software out for Windows.
That's like getting them to um, not post dupes...or post stupid stories....i.e. not gonna happen
Not all sex offenders are child molesters and kiddie rapists.
Right - some are just stupid (i.e. your friend)
Tell that to the recordholder for opening day proceeds (more than $50 million)... Like those that downloaded it aren't going to go see it anyways...

I just love how you open source junkies can't accept truth....
including a key Novell Asia-Pac exec

Wesley must die!
They would be running legit copies of any software anyways.
Woo - see - all it takes is one junkie to mod down the truth - so awesome!

It wouldn't surprise me - they did it with Everquest 2 videos.

Thus, not for a very long time.
Except that most folks who don't read Slashdot don't care about anything here that would make them come here.
Slashdot is just a hub for controversy, and a majority of the time, just one big argument.
But then - brainwashed people buying PIV Intels will get whatever they deserve
sigh - yet another one.....
Dude, you cream your pants when any cute girl older than 12 goes across your TV or monitor...your point? :D
not so hackable that people can easily pirate games but just enough that people can play around with the box and produce cool things for it.
You mean, like, so you can pirate games and not pay for them, right? Hehe
Me too - you not buying one will make it easier for me to buy 3 of them the day they come out :)
And you need to step up and give me all the money you have because I can use it.
Failed logic rules!
But I'm sure Apple would be fools not to follow Gates' prediction, after all Microsoft is the leader in innovation. /sarcasm
Still takes advantage of artists....Your point?
