" Before I get another 10 mails about this: the GPL.ZIP file which they offer for download on their site contains only the Linux kernel and busybox sources, not MPlayer's!
Totally playable, very fun if you like space shooters / traders, good community, but if you have a 56k modem you might find it a bit laggy and the frequent patches a pain to keep up with.
It's only 'test' relative to the full MMORPG they're looking to develop it into.
You forgot one, the internet multiplayer action/trading space shooter Vendetta Test. It's currently without a plot to speak of but is a great physics-realistic space dogfighter plus is very nice to look at.
It'll be released as a proper RPG once they're happy with the game code. Windows & Linux (maybe Mac too?) Enjoy!
Linking a 1 GIGAPIXEL photo to Slashdot? bwwwwwaahahahahahahahahah!
If I ran his site I'd either trim the star attraction down to a thumbnail-formerly-known-as-gigapixel shot or redirect all Slashdot referrals to goatse...

It's no wonder that the Linux Kernel development process isn't being taken seriously, what with the childish drug references and sexual innuendo being spouted. We need a wholesome, filth-free name to call the 2.6.0 release. I propose 'squeaky clean beaver'.
So, please, show me some URLs to OSS projects that you think are really innovative and are not copies of commercial initiatives. Please restore my faith in OSS;-)
Dramatically Tolkein was somewhat of an amateur, since his book comes to a climax rather early, and spends a long time tapering off.
The scouring of the shire is pretty important in a moralistic way rather than a dramatic way... I've always seen it as a reminder that the struggle for justice is fought on every level, from the world stage to the fate of a few villages in an obscure corner of a county.
And, while undramatic, it's also more realistic. The real world is never like a james bond movie - Blowing up an underground lair (or pulling down a large brass statue) doesn't magically make things perfect.
All being said he did right to take it out of the movie. It doesn't fit the mold of popular drama.
There was a multiple murder outside of a bar in downtown Vancouver a few months ago that has put the spook in some people regarding downtown nightlife. Yes, shootings are rare enough here that stuff like that is a big deal. Nobody could remember who the victim left the bar with nor having seen any suspicious looking characters around.
I'm sure that incident will get pulled out in the press if this gets challenged.
The other solution: Don't go to bars that use this system! There's more than one nightclub owner in Vancouver...
That's really funny... around my house we had an old internet/mp3/divx machine in our living room and it got to the point where we started calling the Internet "God"... sitting around, arguing about some piece of trivia... "Just ask God!"
Actually, there were conspirators armed with weapons of mass destruction arrested in Texas...
No way!
Mir had a 13-year uptime, and it only crashed because of a hardware failure.
I think Penny Arcade said it best.
RMS would eat the Fab Five for breakfast. Or maybe just gun them down. Or both. :)

Thanks."
Unfortunately, in almost all Open Source projects the 'hard' and 'easy' parts are reversed...
The challenge and glory is done, now all that's left is methodical, monotonous bug chasing. Who's up?
OK, I'm just pulling your leg. CmdrTaco is being a wigga.
I never meant for it to be this way - I was only trying to make a funny, honest!
(with apologies to Inigo Montoya)

Sweet irony. I hope you don't mind, and also that MPs aren't comparing notes.

Hey, it's better than Osama and Bert....
Don't forget putting a web browser in an mp3 player! christ, it just needs to do your email and it will have expanded as much as it possibly can...
1) Me too.

He sure covers all the bases.

Hasn't been updated in awhile but has the best of the true innovation going on out there.
Enquiring minds want to know...
