Yup. I installed it. It's as slow as heck. Takes about 5 minutes to display the contents of /usr/local/bin, which has about 10 files in it.

Maybe this will cause peopel to realize that Internet Explorer and Outlook Express AREN'T the only way to use the internet. With any luck, mozilla and its ilk should be seeing a lot more customers once the EOL for Internet Explorer 6 and Outlook Express 6 hits and Microsoft either A) Requires a new version of windows for new features or B) Requires MSN subscription, both of which are alternatives that home and small business users (and probably large business users too) won't want. So let's make sure we have a very user-friendly product with plenty of advertising, eh?

  7. Re: Touchscreen? on Lycoris Announces Desktop/LX Tablet Edition · · Score: 1

Touchscreens can be active OR passive. The ones that you appear to dislike are passive, as in PDA's. The active ones, found Wacom tablets and Official MS Tablet PC's (TM)(R)(PG-13) are much more common in Tablet PC's. So unless they specifically state passive digitizer, you can assume any Tablet PC should come with active digitizer. Well, any one made recently at least.

Why must we have these long discussions on meaningless points? Is the referral of the GNU/Linux Operating System Environment as Linux going to take money from anyone's coffers? No. Is the open source movement going to stop because someone didn't feel like typing 5 or 6 words? No. Just sit back and CHILL about it. It's not the point of the article, go find your own article in the archives about the "Linux vs GNU/Linux Debate" and post to your heart's content. There's no need to be swearing and getting worked up over it.

Apple has enough $$$ that they can afford to make the apps and STILL not overcharge by 300% on anything. Be like PC makers and only overcharge by 200%, please.

So the point of this is to make it essentially illegal to register a domain name with anyone not associated/friends of Verisign? I mean, you can't register a domain name if you don't know whether it is taken, and you can't do that now without Verisign's permission. Therefore, any larger domain name registrar will apparently be subject to litigation. Hmm... :(

If this is totally wrong, I'm sorry, it must be my pitifully un-1337 knowledge. Just kindly correct me. :)
