    Yeah but if 1000 Americans die in Iraq, presumably there will have to be 1000 people hired to replace them.

    The more Americans die in wars overseas the better for the American economy.

    The best thing would be for an entire carrier battlegroup to get wiped out, then there would be a huge leap in the economy as they would have to hire people to rebuild the ships and replace the sailors.

    The Powers that Be don't just view war as good for business because of the boost to industry but because it trims out surplus population.

    I'm not saying that its *right*, I happen to think that its evil.

    But its how the minds of certain powerful people works.

    (next thing they'll be Immanentizing the Eschaton).

    I thought that in the USA, land of the free, home of the brave, it was a requirement that any commercial encryption system be breakable by the government?

    And given how stupid the government of the USA seems to be, lexar probably thought it best to use something that even they would be able to crack, ie xor.

    My point was, though, that div by zero was, perhaps, clouding the actual physical issue.

    Ok so what you are saying, or what this implies, is that a black hole doesn't actually *have* zero volume, but rather its volume is continually decreasing toward zero without actually reaching it?

    Sorry, but how does n/0 = infinity?

    That would mean that;

    n/0 = infinity = m/0
    and therefore that
    n = m

    for any n and m.

    Under the UN charter, a person cannot be tried for an act which was not illegal at the time and place it was committed.

    But then we are talking about the USA (in the article) and we all know how important respect for UN conventions and international treaties are for America...

    I don't think it works like that, I'm no physicist but I believe that in order to de-orbit into the Sun, from Earth orbit, one would have to slow down quite a lot. Slowing down takes force.

    I don't see why it has to be on a planet and the drift caused by its orbit.

    When I read the description of the phenomena I thought, hmmm... some kind of engine firing in bursts as it decelerates coming into the solar system.

    Maybe some sort of ion drive.
