I wonder all the hassle about the activation. My Steam-version of HL2 worked fine from the preload to the ending credits. It serves them right to have accounts banned if you tried to use pirated cdkey etc.
Although I wonder also why would anyone use their OWN account to try playing a game they didn't pay for. And the version I know of, pirated I mean, doesn't need the activation at all...
"Warning! This is a technical beta release. Before you decide whether to install this software, it is important to understand that the technical beta release does not have the stability of released Microsoft software..."
MS should use that everywhere. And WHO needs MS mediaplayers anyhow...
I mean, if someone has, like myself, that much music available... wouldn't it be more more handy to store it on a computer than with the player? Player breaks up, bye bye music and so on. And is the extra capacity really worth the price? I usually tend to think the player's storage capacity in relation to how much music I would be needing before having a chance to load other music to the player thingy. 60gb?? 4gb Creative Muvo sounds about right in that sense.
It's like email viruses. You only get infected if you act like you don't care about getting infected. OR, if you act stupid. For about 4 years I have run Ad-Aware maybe a 4 times, and all I get as a result is few tracking cookies. And I Do use the internet more than average, I can tell you that. But then again, I am european;)
People get spy/ad-ware by doing stuff on the net. It's like walking in desert and finding oneself being thirsty but alas no water to drink. Anti malware tools are like that water in the desert. Byt who the heck told you to go into that desert.
If you don't know what will happen from "yes", don't click on it. Preferably don't even click on "no". Kill the process:)
Off-topic? Goes with the motive, your honor... (Nightshift and nothing to do, I admit)
I just GOTTA agree with you! I could say the exact same things you said, except: I have lived ALL my life in Nordea-country, and I have NOT moved to the States ever.:)
Someone wrote that sticking your password Post-it note on the side of the monitor is bad security measure, of course it is, but that does not make one-time passwords bad security measure.
Here in Finland, most new cards are also equipped with chips. I'd reckon it is preeetty much harder to make a copy of. But hey, Australia is not US, nor is Finland... maybe we are that much backward countries. I mean, if someone now says that smartcards are old news:)
Now that would be entirely stupid. How about 1000$ on the case, that SHOULD be pretty quiet too, and 400$ on bandwidth... if you like virtual simulation more than those 1200$ strippers...
How long would your $1400 last for paying the rent? Longer than the case's warranty? Would be another matter if you could buy cargo container on your backyard for a lump sum and do the same to that...
Renting a solution to make pc noiseless... kinda like renting a bank account... maybe not, but hey, this is my second post on this topic, so I get to be slightly off the map.
I just have to wonder, especially since I did't read the whole linkage, but isn't it up to the users to use some sort of brainwork for themselves???
I think that very often in the US you just HAVE to exclude ANY possibility to act stupid, and in ADVANCE at that. So, no cats in the microwave and McCoffee is hot and so on. So if some game makes you act stupid, as someone claims, is it the game that is stupid or the player?
or at least hear about current plans about the Iraq situation. I could actually afford to bet at least 100 on it, at least at the time of de-classification, that the US had planned more than they let us in on. And that would be BEFORE any claims of Weapons of Mass Destruction were even made.
So nice that, hopefully, not everything remains as a secret...
In case you were replying to my post, I did NOT mean that evil things would go away by looking away. I meant offending things might not be as offending is someone looks the other direction.
I originally meant that if the "Shitnuggets blaa blaa yadda yadda" post looks like offending, there is no need to see it, by looking away.
That was my point. Current US President is still stupid, no matter how far away I look, I know...

Highly OFFTOPIC, but insightlful nevertheless.
Dear AC, I live happily outside the US, and were I live, if I find something offensive, I can stop finding it by not looking.
In other words, if you hate modern art (which the above is certainly not) or whatever, do you have to take a look at it?
Little offtopic, but in the US I have noticed that it is not correct to do something if there is POSSIBILITY to find that something offensive. I mean, like I shouldn't be able to swim nude in my own pool because highflying plane would make it possible for the pilot see my naked butt...
Also, if you are not searching, you cannot find. That goes for offensive also... and some blaa blaah to go with the above ranting.
Hmmm... if Beagle's communications are dead for good, who would benefit from those soil samples and so on? I mean... Beagle is on the darn planet, it has all the soil it will ever need, no purpose there, and if Earth cannot get any info about those samples... why bother.
Which one people find worse, sticking to the required usb powered mousepad, or replacing batteries/rechargeable batteries...?
I will surely keep changing the batteries. Besides, I get them free from at my workplace.
Ever heard of dead torrents?
Never have to think about it? Right, like people would seed that more than a week or so...

If Valve says the game is published 16th... how come NOT being able to play it before that is their fault?

My ca. 75gb worth of mp3 are not all from my CD's... ;)

Bulletproof vest protects only when in use...
And to msmikkol, sauna is waiting...

200$ for normal pc case and 1200$ for strippers lapdancing, who would know if the case is noiseless or not...
Still pictures? Nah, let me see some video from there? No? Didn't think so... no stereo streaming available.
I still keep wondering how fast ppl try to get that first post. No spell check in that time of course...
And even still have some misperception about having a FP now...
how many connections from THAT???

I wish to remain stationary at least while I type...
I mean... why would someone want to use another MS software in Xbox, since you can get along without the MS bugware....
but who told us about it???
