As I understand it the music cannot be transfered from computer to computer as the files are in a locked windows media file which is computer specific. If you'd like to pay $0.99 cents you can burn the song onto a CD and then transfer it. But then you're really not getting anything out of the deal because that's what everyone charges for a song. Plus the sound quality will go down if you re-rip the song. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Umm, let me get this stright. If you're a student at Penn State part of your fees go to pay for this music service. However, to take advantage of this music service you must own a Windows 2K/XP machine. So if you don't have a 2K or XP box you're paying for other people to listen to music? What about all the students who are still running NT/95/98/Me or Mac/Linux/Solaris/ect? While I'd bet a good 80 to 90% are running 2K or XP what is the school doing about the rest? If I was a student at Penn State I'd be asking for a partial refund of my fees. How do you Penn students feel about your fees going to this?

    The Pentel R.S.V.P. Med

    and

    The Pilot EasyTouch Med

They both cost about $1 each depending on how many you buy at once. The are both good pens, but I prefer the Pilot. I've had the plastic crack on the Pentel a couple of times and that makes it awkward to write with. However, i've had no such trouble with the Pilot. They both write smothly and are comfortable to hold.

No, you can't use a wetsuit in place of a spacesuit. One of the larger problems with using a wet suit is that it is not vacuum tight. The human body cannot survive inside of a vacumm, so the entire suit has to be pressurized. This rules out a wet suit. There are many more problems with heating and cooling. It turns out to be a very complex problem to make a spacesuit, that's why the things are so expensive.

It has a very smooth feeling, and is overall a very good browser for it's current stage of development. I'd take it over IE any day.

That said, I still prefer the Mozilla based Camino. I've never had any problems with it properly displaying sites. Also, it's a bit faster than Safari. I think Safari has great potentail. I'm looking forward to its GM release.

This particular enigine isn't, but hybrid rockets in general can be. One of the key componets on the thrust of any rocket is the fuel to oxidizer ratio. By changing this ratio, you can vary the thrust. One of the advantages of hybrids is that the oxidizer is in a liquid/gasous from. You don't get the same level of control that you do with a liquid fuel / liquid oxidizer, but you still are able to change the thrust level. If you're interested in learning more about this I suggest a couple of books.

The first is "Space Propulsion Analysis and Design" by Humble, Henry, and Larson. Chapter 7 is all about hybrids and their characteristics.

The second is "Rocket Propulsion Elements" by Sutton, and Biblarz. Chapter 15 is on hybrids.

Actually, you can throttle them. The oxidizer is in a gasous/liquid form and by changing how much is pumped into the chamber, you change the thrust. Of course you can just have the valve all the way open or all the way closed, that keeps the cost of development down. In that case the system produces a set level of thrust, which works fine for most applications.

It is possible to stop all thrust with the solid fuel(HTPB in this case) still in the chamber. All you have to do is shut off the oxidizer. The rubber can't burn, even if it's at temperature without the oxidizer. Infact, hybrids can also be restarted.

say... would Apple also be following industry standard on ATAPI devices? How about DDR ram? and PCI cards (like my new Audigy 2?) (Things I'de LOVE to know before I upgrade again)

Yes apple does follow the standard on ATAPI Devices. Apple just sticks standard CD/DVD drives in their systems.

Yes they do use Standard DDR ram, in the higher end machines, PC133 in the lower machines like the eMac. Also, the laptop ram is standard SO-DIMM 133 or DDR in the case of the 17".

Yes, PCI cards can be put in the powermac line. I'm not sure if the Audigy 2 has OSX drivers. This tends to be the largest problem I've had with mac hardware. Macs use the exact same standards as PCs, however not all companies will write OSX drivers for them. However, often the *nix/bsd hardware hacks work. Epson never has gotten around to writting drivers for my SS2500, however I use CUPS and it works perfect.

In conclusion, Apple runs the same basic hardware as everyone else. The difference is in the PPC chip, and of course the bios. Everything else is industry standard.
