As the AC said, it shows video clips from the movie.. the last few seconds are from the game. Also, if you're on dialup, I suggest NOT downloading this. It's really poor quality, and it looks as if the guy can't even hold the camera steady (obviously hasn't heard of a tripod).
I'm sure the book is great, but what I like about PHP and MySQL (PHP mainly) are the user comments underneath each page. Sometimes the tips and tricks in these comments are life-saving. You just can't get that sort of value out of one book.
The slashdot team considered partnering up with NYT using the subscription funds, but instead decided to hire a satellite for photography at nudist beaches, so we'll have to eat more 'free reg reqd.' lines yet.
What's funny is that whilst Americans missed out on most of the World Telecommunication Day due to the lateness of the article, here in Australia (AEST) the article was posted 28 minutes into the 18th, a full day later!
Here in.au, there's a story about plans to add submarine cable protection zones. Do other countries already have similar restrictions in place? I would be interested to know. Thanks. (Submarine cable is related to international telecommunications, so I'm not entirely Off-topic!)
This is utter bullshit. Dealers should have to inform their customers that the car they're buying has a device that could incriminate them with ease in court. And who's paying for these devices? The consumer? Maybe they should be an optional extra. Yeah right.
Looking at the email sent to the firebird db guys, it seems the mozilla team are going to change firebird's name to "Mozilla Browser" in the next release cycle (1.5), so hopefully the whole hype of this saga will come to a close in a few months:
Nevertheless, we do intend to change the name so that the browser now known as "Mozilla Firebird Browser" becomes the "Mozilla Browser."
Warning slashdot users. Do not go on this ride. If you do, you brain will turn to mush. Here's one testimonial taken from here to prove my theory:
This is the greatest page ever made in the history of internet!!!!!!! I am a ride fanatic, mean you know what I mean "PSYCHO!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I am 18, i have been loving rides since i was nine. Every ride!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe I found this page!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much, is there any Club i can join?????? I am going crazy!!!!!!!!!!!! Ah!!!!!!!!
Remember when the Internet was about sharing? These days some people would have you believe that any packet you receive is "unauthorised access". You probed me, unauthorised access. You visited my website, unauthorised access. You sent me an instant message, unauthorised access. This really needs to play out in the courts before any precedent is set for what is or is not "unauthorised access". (replace the s in unauthorised with z if you're American:P)
Good chess players just create_suspense(x) before making a move, where x is the amount of suspense, and generally increases as the game develops. When this function finishes they make a random move based on the "ooh" and "aah"'s they receive when they touch different pieces. If there's no crowd they use the expression on their opponents face in place of this decision-making process. It's a lot like winning the lottery. These chess players aren't really THAT smart.
Wow, I'd like to say sorry to whoever's member is shown on the last page! That's TINY man!
If you're that into typewriters, you might be interested in this typewriter-keyboard conversion page (featured on /. a while ago here).

Heh I dunno, it just seems really REALLY wimpy compared to all of the other bikes in VC. It seemed an appropriate comparison to the Segway.
GTA VC has something that's worse than a Segway already, it's called the Faggio. (yes, it really is called that!)

Shortest, damnit.
Does this article win the award for the shorest slashdot article in history, or what?
You should have at least cited where you pulled this list from.

As you wish. CDex has native CD->Ogg ripping support.
Your parent post was wrong to say "most" games, but there's still a numerous amount that use OGG, and the number continues to grow.
This is great, well done to all the xiph guys. Remember to show your support by tax-deductibly donating.
Did anyone else laugh when they saw Lic. Alberto Undurraga's signature? (bottom right corner of PDF). It looks like something a three year old drew!

Well, if you want to create the perfect horror movie, just go here!
Hey, if it works well enough, maybe it will replace the NASA's shuttle launchpad.

You've been warned.
This isn't really something I cared to know about, but.. thanks anyway!

Ah, so this article would be the obituary of this. I'm sorry to see you go Software Industry! RIP!
