When you can access the games you want to see for free via the intarweb, you no longer need to pony up the dollars for NFL Sunday Ticket. I'm a Cowboys fan and I live in Seattle so I don't get to see many of their games... I also live in an apartment where dishes aren't allowed so I don't have the ability to get NFL Sunday Ticket since as of yet the NFL has not made a deal with any cable companies. I can get the same thing for any other major sport and did get it two years ago for NCAA football.
If I could download the games I wanted to see, even a few days after they have aired, I would. If I could buy their games, especially playoff and Super Bowl games, I would. But for some reason the NFL doesn't sell this stuff. I bought my dad some highlight tapes a few years back but no complete games are available for purchase... and why not? I don't know why they don't sell them... seems like it would be a pretty good market. I wouldn't mind having all of the Super Bowls... especially the older ones that happened before I was born.
All we need is a fiber optic connection to our homes and 16 people with Tivos and NFL Sunday Ticket (16 because there are 32 teams so 16 games each weekend... of course they aren't all on at the same time but this way we are covered). Save the game and share it immediately... or better yet, share it while it's still on... maybe a 10 minute delay or something... but with the fiber optic connection, speeds should be fast enough to stream in real time so as soon as the Tivo has saved enough to start streaming, your good to go. That would be awesome.
I don't think wiping and reloading is really a cure. You are starting over, not fixing what you already have.
And how many people even know how to wipe and reload? I used to think everyone knew stuff like this but after dealing with my wifes family and most of our friends I've realized that at least the people I know, don't know computers.
When people get a virus, they don't know what to do. They often will go and buy Norton or whatever and then find out that they waited a bit late on that one...

Did Ford do a deal with GM to use OnStar? Last I checked OnStar was only available on select GM vehicles... like Caddys, Pontiacs, Saturns, etc. You can get it on Fords now?
Blockbuster has a deal going now where you pay something like $25 a month to rent as many movies as you want, 2 at a time (total rented) and you don't have a due date. You keep your rentals until you want more and then bring them in to swap. No late fees, no hassle. I think they did it to compete with Netflix. I usually rent at a mom and pop place that is right by where I live but I've been thinking about doing this. I usually spend about $30 or so each month on movie rentals so I'd save a few bucks and I wouldn't have to worry about getting movies back on time.
It looks really great but I agree with you about the price tag. That's outrageous... however it is for more then just the case... you get the cooling system... so figure $200 maybe for the case itself... and a grand for the cooling system... nuts. If I had that kinda money to burn I sure wouldn't waste it on a case and cooling system.
I think Hubble will fail first... NASA isn't going to let the ISS fail... and even if it loses all of the gyros, it can use thrusters to keep it going for quite some time so there is no REAL chance of it failing anytime soon. Hubble on the other hand could fail if a repair mission isn't done relatively soon.
I wouldn't send a 30Mb attachment to my friend on AOL, but to a friend that has cable/dsl they wouldn't mind it one little bit.
You do know that AOL has a broadband service right? That's what I got for my sister. She likes AOL and I already pay for a cable modem so while she is living with me for a while, she has high speed AOL for a bit cheaper than a regular dial up AOL account would cost her.
Americans have produced some decent cars, but overall... suckage.
I can't stop laughing after reading this. You obviously know very little about cars. I'm not anti-Japanese anything. I think Toyotas and Hondas are nice cars. I also think that Corvettes, Cadillacs, and the like are nice cars. Try driving a brand new Caddy and then tell me that your Honda CR-V compares.
Honda makes some fine automobiles but so does the two remaining American auto makers.
I think you missed a key bit of info. The parent was not talking about a newer Dodge but one from back when cars were built to last. What you say is true about modern Dodges being heaps o' shite. But back in the day...
Say what? If I get into a wreck and need body parts, they damn well better be brand spanking new factory parts. Nowhere does it say anything about used parts on my insurance papers. It says that factory parts will be used unless unavailable, in which case after market (new) parts will be used.
I wouldn't get insurance that plans on putting used parts on my car. I've worked at a dealer and the body shop never used anything but new parts on insurance work. If the customer asked for used parts to cut down on costs, that was always an option, but never on insurance work.
Every try to install a SUSE kernel on a Red Hat install?
Maybe I'm ignorant but why would anyone try this? Just to see if it could be done? I liken this to installing a Ford motor in a Chevy car or vice versa... you may get the motor to fit but the transmission won't bolt up without some modifications or an adapter kit... and in the end, what do you have? Is there a good reason for wanting to have a SUSE kernel on an RH install?
Right on! This is what I want to. Screw having so many channels... filled with mostly crap. Let us pay per show and give it to us on demand. I don't want to wait a week to see the next episode of whatever show... let me watch the whole season when the first episode is normally released if I want. Aren't shows done filming for the season before the first episode airs usually? And if not, would it be that hard to change?
I think Tivo solves a lot of this problem as it allows you to watch when you want to, but if the cable companies took it a step farther and made it so that you didn't need Tivo, but could instead watch it off of their servers whenever you wanted, that would be ideal. No more need for Tivo, vcr's, dvd recorders, or the like for most users.
And if they only charged maybe $20 or $30 a month, I think they could eliminate a lot of tv show piracy. Why download it off the internet and have the lower quality copy when you can just select it on the menu on your tv and watch it whenever you want in the original HDTV quality?
Can anyone tell me what codec I need to play this file? I tried it with Windows Media Player and it woudln't work and then I tried it with the DIVX player and that didn't work either... any suggestions? Thanx.

I think we need to focus on not taking care of people if they destroy themselves rather than limiting what everyone can do simply because a small group will be destructive if given those freedoms. I like to gamble on occasion... I never gamble more than forty dollars or so... and I only do it every couple of months. Sometimes I make a little, sometimes I lose it all... but I have a bit of fun while doing it. I'm not addicted to gambling nor do I have an addictive personality. Yet I'm punished because some people have no self-control. I have to take a trip to Vegas in order to vist any "nice" casinos and that just doesn't make any sense to me. Why is it ok for people to gamble there, but not here?
I think gambling should be legal across the nation, and prostitution too. Why can't a woman charge for something that she can legally give away? That too makes no sense.
You're on the wrong end of town... go the shady end... it's much cheaper there and the best part is they throw in the diseases for free! Last time I was there I got a wonderful case of crabs... some of them have died since the trip, but I've been doing my best to keep my little colony healthy.:)

Try your Google search again: "Results 1 - 20 of about 2,480 for aerosol warhead. (0.36 seconds)" is what I just got when trying it.
"Bathroom reading, man." That's what laptops with wireless are for!

Fscking metric system.
That is a bold statement. Your VW goes faster than my 2002 Camaro? I think not. But maybe... do I get to use my NOS for this race?

How can you say that abortion is not inherently evil? It's murder. Since when is murder not inherently evil?
I'm anti-abortion and it has nothing to do with religion. Murder is murder whether you believe in a God or not.
