HyperBBS would 'read' every page of a stack to the modem-connected user, buttons would be menu items, editable fields would be inputs, and locked fields would simply be read.
Choosing a menu item would take you to another page..
The modem user didn't see it, but the home menu (IIRC) looked like a house, the cards for logging in were embellished for the benefit of no-one but the sysop.
First off, not with taxpayer money. End the bias against private space development.
Next, an "Adam and Eve" scenario is probably not a good idea unless the available, consumable resources can expand at the rate the humans can. As others have alluded to, the next generation can't just dig a well, chop down some trees and build a log cabin.
I would send something unmanned that can get from mars to orbit (like the LEM) first, to prove that we can get back. And then send people.
Mr Podsnap's world was not a very large world, morally; no, nor even geographically: seeing that although his business was sustained upon commerce with other countries, he considered other countries, with that important reservation, a mistake, and of their manners and customs would conclusively observe, 'Not English!' when, PRESTO! with a flourish of the arm, and a flush of the face, they were swept away. (Dickens. Our Mutual Friend. Chapter 11. )
As the other posters said, I wouldn't be away for more than a couple of days without some power source - an a/c cable, a 12v cable, a USB cable, a solar panel... I don't know what you're mode of operation is, but you might consider one of these batteries instead of lots of small batteries.
But hey, it sounds like you really prefer replacing batteries. Nothing wrong with that. My original point was that I don't think that's a common concern.
Thanks for the comments. That's a good point about 802.11.. maybe i will just wait for the SDK:) Linux would be nice, but I'll settle for semi functioning apps.
IF this is enforceable, it would fuel concerns about ANY kind of software license, if the author can arbitrarily revoke it at will. I just re-read a standard commercial EULA, it says that 'they' reserve to terminate the license IF you breach the terms of the party of the first part, the party of the 2nd part, etc.
I think a more likely scenario is that it will show an actual benefit of using open source software: if the original owner dumps/restricts it (and it's worth someone's while) it could be picked up and supported. If you use non-free software, you had better hope the company stays around, or you have their code in escrow..
I haven't seen this, and I've sent and received all sorts of text from my (locked) iPhone.
Or you could randomly generate a paper and submit it to WMSCI.
Looks like Preview would have shown you that also :)
But I agree, that is very cool, thanks.
Plus, it's heated air. So, maybe some sort of phase-change system could be used to power turbinesâ¦
I really have no idea, but lemme check. You expect me to remember things like this?
Yeah the torrents http://bittornado.com/torrents/Dimensions-English.torrent are sort of slow. If you're in, hang in there.
Great, now we'll get spams telling us to dowload the latest sekure firefox2 from wwww.mozillla.com.cn
and in compilers, too.
The 'before me' is 'before my face'. So it is a pretty broad exclusion, considering.

parent only mentioned the url
You refer to Harry Chesley's HyperBBS which I used to run as my first BBS, before switching to Coherent.

That is true.

Firewire has time coded packets for a/v data.
USB does not.
Firewire allows connection of multiple hosts together, and has a simple chaining topology as well as hubs, USB does not.
I call fail.

I would have sent you to http:\\botornotcom -- RIP
But at least we know that AT&T won't do anything bad with that information, right?
Oh no...
:)
tesla coils, and/or microwave ovens and/or RFID-Zapper.
Let the fun and sparks begin
How about a shorter answer: if you want to retain ownership of your code ... don't go for the GPL , or other permissive source licenses.
But isn't that a tautology - If you want to retain ownership of your code, retain ownership of your code. Whose ownership is hijacked?
GPL is great for some things. MIT/X is great for some things. Closed source is great for some things, etc. Take your pick.
