I can't download it all now (but i still see Ver.1.10.2004020801 on the site, weird). I get a file not found error. I guess some of the extensions have got slashdotted aswell and he's pulled it... better wait for all this to die down. I shouldn't have upgraded so fast, it was working perfectly before, doh!
i clean installed 0.8. then i installed Tabbrowser Extensions. then i found it wasn't 0.8-safe! now i'm warning slashdot users. 'cos it ain't too easy to uninstall extensions. heh.
...for people who have eMule running anyway;) Copy & paste that into the eMule Direct Download box. It should work, i had to add a space after the size part because otherwise/. adds a space in the middle of the hash (doh!). This is already uploading like crazy in the 15 minutes its been in my download folder:o that'll be my u/l b/w gone for the next few days;). Still it's all for a good cause..
watch out if you use this extension - it doesn't seem to be compatible with 0.8 - i just had to reinstall fire-whatever after finding it wouldn't start. that was on a clean install with just this extension added. hopefully there'll be an update for Tabbrowser Extensions soon (the official extension page is offline atm due to traffic, i was using the the extension homepage).
Odd because it worked with the recent nightly build of firebird. Or am i doing something stupid and it should work? (very possible).
they seem to not know what their slogan is - their (new) button page lists all of the following:
The browser, reloaded
Take back the web
Web browsing redefined
With web sites free to pick & choose! Now I love the browser but settling on one slogan might be a good idea no? I suggest "Take back the web", or something i haven't thought of yet:)
Is that permanent for you, or permanent for your computer? (I'm hoping to last longer than my current computer). I've never used any DRM, i'm wondering how this stuff works.
makes perfect sense. maybe this is one aspect of space travel that's not rocket science;) from what i remember (read a book called Dragonfly about Mir, heh) the russians were way ahead in their understanding of the importance and role of character and techniques for the assessment of the suitability of a person to work in space. I don't know if this is still true, despite all their funding crises, it's interesting to see the Moscow Times report this.
doesn't it cost more to include a blank cd-r than another pressed cd? is anyone going to use the blank for something else? and what if you get a buffer underrun while burning it! bummer:p (anyone still have a drive without underrun protection?).
heh, when i read the title i thought they meant incompatible with the space station. like the american crew are too fat and wouldn't fit in the hatches or something. yeah, they'd definately want to consider that..
first the leaky capacitors, now this. any way to find out exactly what this material went into? like a list of manufacturers using it? i bet not right! btw this was published in December 2002.
Real Alternative is a bundle of Media Player Classic + Real codecs. MPC on its own contains only a splitter and still needs the decoder DLLs. I don't believe it even supports streaming. Maybe from this you can deduce whether or not the vulnerabilities are still there. Right now my brain is fried:)
Except, you don't choose an evil tamagotchi. Oh no. Occasionaly, good tamagotchis just go bad;) (Make it like 1 in 100 so you don't hurt sales too bad).
lol. never trust any program that just claims to have "very advanced algorithms" but gives you no details on what they are (i just noticed that people who don't know much about computers are fond of that word, makes them feel big. algorithms.). Really, any program that seems a bit too keen to get you to install it, you should stop and ask, why? Real freeware developers have bigger things to worry about, like maintaining their program & paying for their bandwidth... lol, I could have told you that program was dodgy just by looking at their site.. "not only can detect primitive and old spyware, but can detect new generation applications as well" really, how does that work then? not even Spybot can do that;) of course this wasn't aimed at people like me.
I particularly like this bit of their page:
Need SpyBan?:
Your computer and your privacy are at risk if you:
- surf the internet more than 1 hour a week
- share your computer with another person
- make purchases online
- use file-sha
hmm, that's me! sign me up! classic scamster stuff, sad that it got 44,000+ people.
Interesting - I didn't know peanut allergy was that common, but is it actually connected to photosensitive epilepsy in any way? (Serious question, your post just implies it is somehow).
This is probably so obvious it's already been mentioned, but how about you (Google) mirror the first page of results you link to from the day's special banner? by default, rather than people having to think to use the google cache. You would of course need to mirror images or other large content. I don't know if there could be any legal problems with this but technicaly it should work and you'd only need to do it for a day.
have you tried Tools > Options > Downloads > File Types > .DOC > Change Action > Save to Disk ?

this was a joke gone wrong. sorry for not being clear. mod me down and mod grandparent back up.
very much doubt this cd has any sort of copy protection on it, i couldn't read german even if it did.

Windscreen wipers! Or you could have it shake like a dog... whatever is best for the electronics ;)

Spybot
Ad-Aware
There are others, but these pretty much have it covered i think.
(i read TFA)
hehehe, someone at Google has a sense of humour, Dr. Seuss style. Nice link thanks.
Apparently it's a 23 year old Korean guy called Dennis Hwang. Hurray for Dennis! :)

Well they've done the first part. Now we just need another Slashdot story :)
