i havent seen a good linux ide either(i am checking eclipse.org, from child post), but i dont think that could possibly limit linux to being a tinker toy. for one thing, it isnt one right now...
you are probably correct to some extent, as far as linux on the desktop. if there was a very good ide available, it would make more apps available to the everyday user.
that netwinder looks to be almost exactly what this it100 is, for about the same price. same processor, but twice the ram. i couldnt rtfa, but seemed like the netwinder had a lot of features...
hard to believe people are making 533's the size of my netgear 4port router.
the zx7 is an excellent camera. as all others have said, their lenses are massively compatible. not only that, but this particular one has a metal bayonet connection. i dont have my 28-300 yet, so im constantly switching my 28-80 with my 75-300(macro) and having a plastic mount would really scare me.
as far as cheap lenses, sigma makes decent lenses for pretty cheap. i cant remember the brand right now, but i think its ritz camera has an in-house brand that is nothing but a sigma with different stickers. cheap, reliable, but the zoom action isnt so smooth(focus is fine, but af on a long lense is usually a little slow).
having said all that, canon now has a digital that uses the eos lenses the rebel does. THAT would be cool. one set of lenses for your film and digital.
look at it this way, at least that poor guy handling 400 unix boxes has just unix boxes and not win2000 servers or something. THAT would be aweful. if theyve been around long enough they should be rock solid by now.
and to ms-fanboys reading this, i dont want to hear it. unix boxes are rock solid (especially on good hw) and dont have to be patched every other day. less maintenance is a very good thing when its 1/400.
oh, and to stay on topic (since i got modded offtopic and redundant for being the first one to point out something offtopic), what is the deal with aol broadband? looks to me like its not even access, just a syrupy(as in slow) sugar coating for your existing connection...
so what does foobar have that winamp doesnt? for now, i see no reason to switch. winamp doesnt crash on me (ever), it looks pretty enough with the skins available for wa3, and its easy to use. so what makes foobar better? ill switch if it is indeed superior.
theres somehting sad about all this, but i think its you. good lord, that is some nasty crap. you must be old. when you were young, i bet you didnt like the idea of seeing 60yr old women naked. only way ill enjoy it is when its my wife 45 years from now
i am entirely amazed at the fact that you got modded up for that. sensible as it was, i never would have thought that the/. crowd would appreciate it, hehe
ive gotten numerous deals including $150 free phone, and im up to a pretty nice number of minutes now. they will bend over backwards to keep you. well, except at&t. they wont. ive got sprint. and teh deal i have costs at least 50% less than what you would have to pay for it, and i have a new phone
thats one reason i like to let my contracts expire. that way, you get billed by the month and can continue as long as you want. then, you can just change plans any time you want.
As it stands now, Linux is an OS X wannabe. Linux wants to have a nice UI, Linux wants to run games, and Linux wants to have a web browser that isn't slow as balls or, how about iTunes?
right... wait, no. not right.
ill concede that linux wants a nice ui, of course. it stops there, however. linux does not want to be what osx is. i know of a few osx servers, but not many. people dont buy macs for servers(usually, we have a quicktime server here, ill admit) they buy them because they are pretty and the do graphics head and shoulders above a pc. people use linux for software development, servers, etc. that isnt much like video editing.
slow web browser? what the hell? have you ever used linux? mozilla is fast(tho ugly, imo), galeon is fast(and has tabs and gestures), and opera is very fast(having tabs and gestures). i dont at all know what you mean about that.
itunes... not sure about that, ive never used it, but i did use osx for about 6 months at work.
Just because it is Linux does NOT MEAN that it is magically exempted from NOT WORKING CORRECTLY.
no, the fact that it is free and will run on any piece of hardware you have makes it exempt from working perfectly on all of those platforms. can osx install on a sun?
one more thing. how come osx is bsd now? isnt that a whole lot more like linux than os9? how is it that linux wants to be like osx? seems to me that mac decided that open source *nix(bsd, sorry) was the way to go and rewrote teh whole os to be like them.
that is the point. freedom to do it if i feel like it. youre right, if you dont want to, you dont have to anymore. that is your choice.
just because you dont need any extra stability, security, or configurability doesnt mean someone else doesnt.
i like osx a lot, but i cant do any of the things i need to with it. i like linux a lot but i only use it for servers. i dont like windows very much, but i use it because its the right tool for developing visual c++.
personally, im still confused. serious question, not a troll...
how in the world do you get that far down to reach the section of cable that is miles below the surface? holy crap, that must be one hell of a ship. it must hold a lot of cable to hoist that bidness up and then be able to hold the weight of it all as they work on it. do they just get it up high enough to allow divers to get to it? i agree with the parent of your post, this is absolutely amazing to me.

blows its cuteness and $3000

i posted on-topic entirely and got modded down from 1 to 0 as 'overrated.' how the hell is NO additional mod points 'overrated'????

perhaps he was only referring to the /. error.
maybe he did rtfa and was wondering where marklein (submitter) got the number 400.
no more updates or support from microsoft
you dont use BSD, do you?
well, i stand very corrected. keep doing your thing, i suppose. to each his own
no, but i apparently ahve the math skills of a 2 year old, hehe. my mistake, i was trying to say she is roughly 25
that is all. no real content in this post. i appologize, the person who wrote this has been sacked.
anybody else notice that there were huge intel advertisements at the top of each page, but amd killed them in EVERY test?

what is best for you may not be for someone else.
longhorn, yo.
it's a cow.
3 whole meters?? wow! wish i had something that could go that deep. wait a minute... i can swim that deep holding my breath. perhaps 3Km?
personally, im still confused. serious question, not a troll...
