    Maybe it is to make sure that the format is not a binary one. One can read XML without special filters if push comes to shove. It should add provisions to how documents should be compressed though. Gnuzip maybe?

    I had to search for two months before I even got to see one demo unit in GTA. Could it be that it is because the demand is very high... I have yet to see any units that are "selling units." Also I believe many store managers ended up doing quite the buck on eBay, because the absolute absence of PS3 even in the Sony stores is and was VERY weird.

    OK when I was a kid I used to dissasemble a whole lot of hardware products that was "Made in China" and "Made in Hong Kong" and to my recollection EVERYTHING was backwards and especially the threads. This has "obviously" changed.

    The anecdote with Green/Red light I actually got from a native Chinese and could have been a sarcastic remark on how they felt about their country. But I have been in places where political agendas have made far more changes to how things are done than it should be.

    I believe the signal for GO is Red in China. Stop is Green... I may be completely wrong here though because I am basing it on an anecdote.

    I do know that all their screws are left threaded though.

    How about all color blind people? How will they perceive it? White is more clear than gray. Microsoft didn't think of that did they? Ok so maybe one can change the color that will be displayed.

    BUT!

    Placing meaning to color is VERY bad.

    re-backup those old backups and then re-backup any dvd backups older than a couple of years. Migrate to new media so that you have a way to read things easy. this is preemptive workload BUT it will save your butt.

    true and one should actually use "grep -P" if possible these days which is in my experiance two magnitudes faster than "normal" grep for my purposes. But then again parsing big logs is better done with perl in any case... if the parsing needs to be identical (which they aren't when bug hunting.)

    Or you can use "Permit Cookies" with FireFox and still read it without getting/giving any cookies if you want ;-)

    Haha... true but let say you have 50+ GByte file to grep (which I regularly have) that 7 times speed difference is a whole lot.

    All my terms hide the mouse cursor as soon as I begin typing so I have never the cursor being in the way.

    Also I tend to have 8 1600x1200 desktops full of app-windows and if I had to click for every time I switch "context"... OMG. Even if I would be using Alt-Tab.

    One other thing that I am using that is confusing for normal user is edge-flip (Brightside for gnome.) Personally I can not live without edge-flip.
