Find a distro from the same era. Redhat 2.1 (and I'm not talking redhat enterprise 2.1) circa 1995 will install and give you an X environment. Maybe even good old 3.03 would fit the bill.
And that ladies and gentlemen is what we call Bush Derangement Syndrome. I'm sure there is someone somewhere in the world with a body of work that shows achievements in peace. I think the committee should be worried. A lot of unintended mistakes can happen over the next 3 years that can contribute to large scale violence. I hope it doesn't but that is why these awards are usually held until *after* the accomplishment.
Running commercial software is an important part of the linux ecosystem because that commercial linux software doesn't write and maintain itself.
Of course I'd prefer everything GPL but let's see it as a pragmatic step in the right direction. Next get the users on Firefox and OpenOffice and the transition to a linux desktop won't be far away.
Computer displays are the same way. Twelve years ago I had a vertical resolution of 1200px in a 21" monitor. Today on a 24" monitor, that's still the best sold in any store. It's sickening.
Hop the southern border. When you get here you will never need to show documentation to get full government service. 20 million mexicans did it, so can you!
The tube monitor I had in the late 90s ran at 1600x1200. Now over 10 years later my 24" LCD is a paltry 1920x1200. It pisses me off that vertical resolution hasn't increased. There is a reason newspapers and now web pages put text into narrow columns -- readability. My eyes work fine so I don't give a crap that fonts look smaller as dots per inch increase.
Now vendors are cheaping out further on 24" LCDs by using 1920x1080 panels as the default offering. A total lack of progress.
Don't even get me started that most netbooks are using something around a 800x600 (or 576) resolution screen. Are we returning to the windows 3.0 days? I bought a 11.6" gateway netbook primarily to get the whatever by 768 display. (if only they had a matte version in stores) Again small font for more vertical lines is a trade-off I'll take every time.
I'll save my rant of GNOME's special-ed style of font and icon size (see the 150% line height on the gnome website as the first mistake) for another day.
With the current bill in congress, you don't even have to be a lawful immigrant. Perhaps that's why the government going to count the illegal aliens in the 2010 census. (presumably not asking their immigration status)
I can't believe this was released in the same week where the government sponsored VA hospitals were sticking dirty anal scopes up veteran's asses and giving them hepatitis and AIDS.
I guess cleaning the ass scope isn't that fun so they decided to only do it once at the end of the day.
This is why I'll steer far clear of government run health care.
and futhermore it encourages browser vendors to develop for the test.
Since the test is for standards compliance, I'm more than happy that products are developed with the ACID tests in mind. Encourage away!!
Prior to ACID, the only reliable cross platform HTML was a, br, b and i tags. Heck, even the img tag in IE6 is broken because it doesn't do PNG transparency.
I'm not sure about printing because I've never used it for that, but I've seen soy based paint and concrete stain used with magnificent results. Traditional stains and paints leach nasty chemicals for years after application so going to a soy or clay based product will greatly reduce the airborne toxins (aka VOCs) in your living environment.
By today's standards, anything they build will be cleaner than the 25+ year old plants. Cut some of the nuclear lawsuit shit and maybe we'd have options other than coal.
Is that obviously MS won't be packaging firefox with windows so don't count on having gecko as the default rendering engine for your website visitors anytime soon.

I'd tap it, photoshopped or not!

Fuck the aspect ratio. I want higher pixels per inch.

What happens when the CIGS cells wear out?
Are they toxic? Can they be recycled?

Interesting post. I've never noticed all of the clicking because I use focus follows mouse.
These fucks are too lazy to scan the books for themselves and are bitter that Google is investing the man-power to do so.

Marketing Douche: Say, how about we offer mobile internet access that won't work with mobile devices.
PHB: Great idea!!
Now that these things are getting big, who is going to popularize building them with eSATA connectors to get some good speed out of them?
Think how cool a true flash drive in your pocket would be!

He should google Daniel Pearl to know what he's getting into.
I too wish everyone respected each other in a peaceful fashion but clearly that's not the case.

The reason you have sky high taxes and are STILL broke lies in your definition of "essential" services.
Obama will appoint a czar of online books and nationalize the service away from google.

You don't get it.
Income is taxed, not wealth.

It doesn't work yet.
There is so much legacy cruft in Windows I doubt it will ever be secure. MS has too many conflicting priorities.

Oracle Cluster File System. Whether you need it or not is up to you. Oracle also provides OCFS modules for Red Hat to make it easy on people.
