    Yes, having NAT means that a computer on the net cant initiate a direct connection, so your computer will be safe if you dont download any nasties.

    What you have to realise about free speach is this. There are a hell of a lot of stupid people in this world, not all of whom are able to do anything other than be led. Free speach may be well and good in a perfect world, but a perfect world this is not. Theres way too much stupidity flying round to let everyone preach anything from the rooftops.

    The important difference is that the above can deal in cash, its much harder for a spamming company to get you to send $20 to po box whatever than it is do get you to put your card details in the box.

    Most Schools in Britain get thier internet access via a network called JaNET, the web access through this network is heavily filterd, as it is only used for schools.

    I have on many occasions used an ATM machine (thinking about it, it was a Nationwide machine..) when its had error boxes on the screen. Most of the time it works just fine anyway

    It may work when viewed in firefox, but it doesnt, unlike with ie, cache the pages that you visit with firefox.

    In the UK your hard pushed to find anything above 512Kb/s down, a large percentage of people who have 'broadband' have 150Kb/s down, and pay £15.99 ($25) per month for it.

    No. He said that the brandnames of Google, Kleenex and Xerox all have capitals, and so should always be capitalised.

    The fact that mplayer distributes those codecs is exactly why you wont find it included in any major distrobution, precisely because people are worried about the reprecussions.
