So just because it happens every year means we should just sit down and go ho-hum?
I really don't think anyone here would claim that Kerry lost the election because of these anomalies. Any ones that would think that probably wear tin foil hats. Anyone that thinks Kerry lost the election because of these and thinks posting about it on the internet will change anything is just plain ignorant.
However, we should be paying attention to this. These are not your common irregularities. This is a whole new system of casting your vote. I've seen statistics that 30% of the votes this election were cast electronically. When we have such a large percentage of participation with these things, don't you think it's time we looked at the problems of them? And when stories like these come out about malfunctions and obvious conflicts of interest, don't you think that we, citizens, should make sure they're fixed before the next election?
Personally, I've written several members of my state congress asking about possible bills for requirements of electronic voting machines, such as the all-so-important paper trail. What have you done?
I think what the above people are trying to say is that the reason google used to find them was because they were on the news. Images that came in via Google News were put into the index, and then were taken away when they sopped appearing on the news.
Yellow Dog Linux is specifically designed for the mac, whereas Ubuntu is for x86 and PPC. I've never used Ubuntu, so I can't say for sure, but I know YDL works seamlessly on all non-breaking-edge macs (AKA, when the G5 came out they had to run it on Jet Engine mode). I know with some linux distros (*cough*mandrake*cough*) sound buttons, screen brightness buttons, and even the eject button don't work out of the box.
Also, Yellow Dog Linux is Red Hat based whereas Ubuntu is Debian based. That's important to note.
That's all I can say without having tried Ubuntu. It really depends on what you want to do. Most people I know who use YDL use it on pre-G3 hardware that OS X doesn't support.
Sorry to pick on you, especially if it was just a slip of the tongue (which it looked like), but I see these two words mixed up more than I'd really like to.
Why aren't Cobb, Badnarik, Brown, and others shown? I find their answers are much more interesting, as they aren't afraid to alienate voters with different opinions (AKA no John Kerry-esque 'For votes who don't agree with it, I don't agree with it either. But for those who do, I'll still enforce it. Vote for me please!')
Actually that's a question to which the answer is interesting.
If you were thinking about running linux on your ppc, it's a good idea not to buy this. Dell hasn't released information about the hardware to make Linux on it feasable.
I've been a member of xanga for awhile now (2.3 years according to their nagscreen) and I can safely say that xanga has a huge asian community, so it's not just UCSD. If you choose a random weblog, you're about 80% likely to land on an asian persons. I have no idea why this is, it's not like the system is asian-centric or anything, but the community is.
I'm a spanish speaker... a browser don't need to be...
I'll skip the obvious jokes and just tell you. With singular nouns (except for first person and 2nd person pronouns), you should use "doesn't" instead of "don't".
A browser doesn't need to be a desktop browser. - Good
A browser don't need to be a desktop browser. - Bad
I/You doesn't need to post on slashdot. - Bad

I still only use Hotmail for signing up for forms where I *know* they will be spamming whatever account I give them.
I actually wrote out a whole comment about how you should use spamgourmet for that instead, but I see from your email you already know about it.
So why do you still use hotmail then?
Not that good, I'd imagine
He already did
And people will still insist on running on 800 x 600.

No, you don't understand the mindset:
You're either for the loss of jobs, or your for the creation of jobs. Now which are you?

Like buying the game when it comes out, then spending $215 on a hooker to play it with?

Make no mistake, VNC, photoshop, and a digital camera are a whole lotta fun at a lan party.
Oh, there's a lot of correlation, just not so much causation

They would probably wonder what language you were speaking.
Yes. They decided the devil was a little too risque, so they all decided on a more subtle, politically friendlier logo.
Door to door religious types: Hello, sir, can we have a moment of your time?
Zilla: Ugh, what do you want?
Dtdrt: Have you found God?
Zilla: He's not here, go away.
*shuts door*

I think he meant to say G5 iMac, which as far as I know, doesn't have built in speakers.
You don't need internal speakers for the aungh (as I call it), but the sound comes from a custom chip within the mac. So no, you won't hear it.

Yeah. I mean, after all, how much could the record company that puts out THE BEATLES cost?

They just want to make sure not to forget Roland, in case Bush reads slashdot.
Just when I thought someone forgot about roland...
I'm told that's how things are in Singapore now. Because punishments are so harsh (caning, unthinkable fines), crime nearly ceases to exist.
