The EeePC doesn't run Gnome by default, and it does run a very minimalist interface. Not minimalist enough for my tastes, but that should be mitigated when the 9" ones come out.
The PS2 version of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time contains the original game as an unlockable. You can probably find it pretty cheaply these days so if you want to catch up on both the old and new series this would probably be the best place to start.
Actually, they got the age of the supernova by comparing the new pictures that they took of it to the pictures they got back in 1985. They looked at the difference in the size of the gas bubble that it threw out and used that to calculate its speed. They were then able to extrapolate backwards to find its age.
Not really. My 80Gb drive is still serving me well. Sure, I have to unload some of my larger and more infrequently used files to DVDs from time to time, but it's still more than large enough to keep everything I need on a regular basis, even for two operating systems.
And none of you can prove with 100% certainty that this didn't actually happen, so you must respect hey!'s beliefs and lobby for them to be taught in science class.
It's a good thing sites like thepiratebay.org are making the sale of physical copies of pirated media much less profitable. Get those Torrents running for Uncle Sam!
Clarke did pick Saturn. Kubrick changed it to Jupiter to make the special effects easier. The sequels to 2001 were written as sequels to the movie, not to the book.
I'd strongly recommend that you take some time and read the Broadband Reports forums on the various Canadian ISP's if you plan to make any ISP choices, rather than trust the sales pitches. It will take a little time, but you will very, very glad that you did. Pay special attention terms like throttling, hard caps, soft caps, bandwidth limits and penalties, the use of the phrase "up to" when quoting speeds, quality and location of technical support, cancellation fees, and customer satisfaction ranking. And make sure you look at ISP's like Teksavvy, the highest rated Canadian ISP, who charges about 55% what you quoted for the same real (as opposed to theoretical) speed.
I have nothing to add to this. I'm merely quoting it because the original was moderated -1 Underrated despite the fact that it contained some very useful information and I wanted to use my automatic +2 to make sure others could see it.
The Eee doesn't run the latest version of Ubuntu. It runs a really shitty stripped-down version of Xandros. Sure, you can install eeeXubuntu and get some decent functionality out of the machine, but the OS it comes with is crap.
For the price of a high-end laptop that would be able to do the things you list as well as being portable you could easily buy a high-end desktop, which can do the things you list better than a laptop could, and an Eee, which is far more portable than most laptops that could do the things you list would be.

Super Mario 64.

But would someone wearing it be an Autobot or a Decepticon?

Use an axe.
His pants already are.
But how would you say "I will not buy this record, it is scratched"?

That's basically what the Moon is already. It's just kept together due to gravity, which wouldn't switch off when you introduce the bacteria.
I have the 4G model an it can barely play Tux Racer. I don't think this'll ever be a decent game system, but that's not really what it's for.

Bah, the fax machine is just a waffle-iron with a phone attached!

Maybe he means Proxima Centauri. Technically it's a star, not a planet, but since when has that stopped bureaucracy?
We've been awesome for nearly a century and a half. People just didn't start noticing until now.
It's an avian spy! Get 'im!

At night, the ice weasels come.
Of course. They were created along with the mountain and the trees.

It makes an excellent test subject on which to practice necromancy.
