I was going to say the same thing but found your post - you deserve mod points. I use godaddy too. Thery are a division of dotster - which I really don't like - but their godaddy division seems to be run better. You get lots of little perks that you have to pay extra for elsewhere.
I will add this - it would be foolish to do this for another reason - what if you are bought out? What if your company name changes? Mine has changed from Gadzooks to adzooks to adzoox.
Ummm... the ipod battery is VERY inexpensive and very easy to replace - and porportional to the player's cost $40 -$50 = 10%
An analogy: A $30 to $40 cassette radio's battery cost is 4-$5 = 12.5%
I think the format was chosen so as to be the most universally compatible. After all, Apple made AAC / iTunes cross platform - most other formats [that are secure] are Windows only.
And it's interesting to see, at about that time, the iTunes Music Store will have international compatibility - Microsoft will most likely have the same blitz behind it that they recently tried to have with the "mini media box" they plan to have.
Most likely they'll claim - "First online music store that's compatible everywhere - Microsoft we're what you need"
Then they will probably try to integrate it into Longhorn - whereas Apple has it integrated into a program you don't have to use.
It would be interesting to see if they will include a player for this "store" that will also play AAC.
1. Apple has a loyal fanbase that supports it "enough" to break even - make a profit
2. Apple has the iPod, the iSight, Quicktime, iTunes - all superior Mac and Windows implementations
3. Apple has the design prowess and the marketing genius to cater to just about any market segment they choose to go after - right now; audio - next; video
4. Apple has the appearance of support - most people don't know where to turn for Linux support
5. Macs can run Linux too
6. Apple has an immense support base on the internet
7. Mac OS X is a Unix derivitive - so everything mentioned in the 103 words pretty much applies to Apple.
I've based a whole website on the premise of searching for the terms "Jack Campbell" "MacMice" - there is very damaging information concerning these topics to the owner of this company. In the scheme of things I was involved in the telling of the tale that "Jack Campbell" is.
Googling for the terms yields my website + his.
I turned the website into a consumer watchdog site concerning the macintosh community, but my #1 traffic still comes from people trying to find information about Mr. Campbell from Google searches.
I like it as Google yields a "free US Search" essentially. You can quickly find the good and bad about businesses.
I also like the fact that my highest moderated slashdot articles show up. Some, that are modded trolls, most that are moderated informative and interesting - this makes people searching for various topics interested in my websites.
If you think eBay has rampant fraud - you should look at the Mac section of yahoo auctions. It is just an obvious (at least) 80% fraudulent auctions.
I've used their auction alert system for about 2 years and it really works, it's an easy system to tell yahoo that something is wrong with an auction. It allows "you and me" to police auctions - ebay should have something similar.
How many shops accept paypal (if you don't have the debit card) - how many shops are in rural Montana - do shops have ebay points - there are reasons to pay MORE than retail.
You are correct - and if a private company (such as United, USAir, Delta, American) wants background information on me - I have nothing to hide AS LONG AS it is strictly background information - state, city, gender, age, weight, height, eye color, citizenship, phone number.
We do have the right to privacy for anything that can lead (easily) to personal private information - such as social security number, high school, college, mother's maiden name.
The airlines are asking for this information too. We have a RIGHT TO FLY without this information as long as we give general info and submit to searches.
... won't be successful until there is the same search capability as Kazaa has and as Napster had.
From 1999, until approximately summer 2003, the sole way I searched for new music was by using LimeWire (a java client for Kazaa and others).
The only way I could information (quickly) about a song was to do such a search.
For example: Music from Mitsubishi Commercials. You type "mitsubishi commercial" into LimeWire - comes right up - you type "mitsubishi commercial" into iTunes - you get "The iTunes Music Store contains 0 records for your search, please try again."
Now, this relates to CD sales in that, if I found the song, and liked it, I went out and bought it, sometimes getting them from iTunes (at least within the past year).
So file sharing DOES translate into physical sales - I'm SURE I'm not the only one or even in the minority of users who do this.
The original Apple Airport Base Stations called "Graphite v1.0" actually had a 486DX100 AMD Equivalent - if I'm not mistaken these were called "Dave Processors".
The Airport Base Station (original) is a very good "take apart" to learn how to build your own router. They couldn't be more simplistic in design and implementation.
An interesting proposal about why you'd want SPAM

It's almost a given that one day soon SPAM will be pretty much eliminated, or at the least, significantly diminished.
Now, go back in time to: Life Magazines and to older comic books - could there be one day in the future that sellers on eBay pay collector dollar for old Spamvertisements - just like they do for Wrigley's Gum ads, Coke ads, Life magazines, comic book ads?
I saw in someone's journal that they were collecting SPAM just for posterity sake - to get some good laughs when they were 75. Another was collecting them as a reference database for creating filters.
This story was actually submitted back in October 2003 - just now approved.
Things are working out well... never hired my brother.
I wanted to make a couple comments:
1) Why? Those closest to you care about your success the most - at least they are suppose to.
2) Wages - I don't really have to pay them, just support them comfortably - this is a big factor in my infancy as a business
3) My family and friends know me and know how I would handle things in my absence - hired help makes their own decisions (not saying that's good or bad)
4) I'm slowly but surely building the eBay and website portion of my business first (before opening retail) - ebay alone is a lot of work - listing/packing/receipts/mailing/followup/feedback/database
Thanks again for all the suggestions and comments.
Do parody sites have to have disclaimers? If they don't are they considered libel. I just did a story on my website about Landover Baptist ( a proclaimed parody site ) but they have another site called Christian Objective that is ALSO a parody with no mention whatsoever of being such. The second site is to create enough controversy to make one curious to visit Landover Baptist.
So... if HP just teamed up with Apple to release an HP branded iPod and an HP branded iTunes Music Store - what exactly are they expecting for the Linux success here?
Currently iTunes doesn't work in Linux. I guess they don't expect too much success.
My vote for:
Sarah Brightman as Arwen
Nathan Lane as Sam
Deborah Gibson as Galadriel
Micheal Crawford as Gandalf
Choosing Frodo would be difficult
Are the actors going to have be on their kness the whole performance?
Wouldn't this produce steam or condensation? Water or liquids don't just disappear - if there is no other form of matter created that means build up - right?
What happens if another substance gets mixed into this liquid?? - say a piece of carbon from the chip??
Actually it has - The Matrix is good example - the first was a groundbreaking story and movie - the second had nothing really new, the third one was just a used plot - each move made less sequentially. The third didn't even pay for how much it cost to make.
It hit Hollywood back in 2000 I think. It's definitely hit TV with Reality TV Shows. The originals aren't even popular anymore: Survivor etc. (least no where near the first two years)
The Apprentice (reality TV Show) is new concept - it is being rewarded.
There is originality to found in story retelling. Who knows, maybe one day - someone other than Lucas will retell Star Wars better.
Apple is a marketing genius - Gateway is a computer company that sells computers just like everyone else.
When Apple wants a good MP3 player - they create one from scratch and THEN create a market for it (iPod + iTunes Music Store)
Gateway wants an MP3 player - they copy the iPod or actually copy a clone already on the market.
Gateway wants a camera, they rebrand a Canon, Gateway wants a printer, same thing - rebrand.
When Apple was rebranding, they were in dire straits - HP inkjets - 630c rebranded as Stylewriter 4500 - Canon Inkjets - rebranded as Stylewriter 2500 Quicktake Camera (developed by Apple and exclusive to them for 6 months) but really just a rebranded Fuji DS7 camera. Apple chooses to cater to the base and to innovate. Gateway - what base do they have to cater to - a PC is a PC is a PC - if someone offered the same box $5 cheaper 2 miles closer than the Gateway Store, they'd buy it. Apple has a brand and they market and please it's customers (mostly)
A really funny flash about sex.com being stolen.

I've been doing this for almost 6 months with a 5450 (just not the Ipod clone software) - don't forget to add that it's also a handy GPS, telephone, tv remote control, fm radio - with all the right hookups of course.
...and it's the only reason I like the PS2... I can still play Intelligent Qube, decent light gun games, Puzzle Fighter, and Crash Bash... to me the only games that have EVER met or superceded the gameplay in Tetris.
People rely on them because they've been a round a while. What few people that are posting here and complaining about this and that on Paypal is mostly based on conspiracy theory and just false assumptions. The scammer that scammed you - they used Paypal as a mechanism to scam you. They used eBay as the mechanism to scam you. While you would have liked either of the companies to assist you - THEY didn't scam you - the scammer did - you were the victim of an exploitation of a system with loopholes.
That said, I have always hated squaretrade - having to pay for feedback removal is grotesque at best. BUT the majority of the time is does force an on record response and proves or disproves if the defendant who's feedback you want you removed - truly is a good person with a misunderstanding or just an ass.
I did a slashdot journal entry on a conspiracy about squaretrade - I think they have profit drives with those that are known to pay for feedback removal.
I found we are both right - they wholesale from dotster - they aren't "really" a subsidary though - so I was wrong

The 3 words you posted certainly made you a troll.
What proof do you have that Apple is dead?
Apple is gaining marketshare, and more importantly, "mindshare" - every day.
Apple isn't free - neither is Linux - open source software /= free hardware or even free software.
