Why wouldn't you want your kids to learn as much as possible and then continue on to discuss and debate it? Thats how things get stronger and improve. I am an atheist and strongly believe in evolution. Is it perfect, no of couse not, but neither is science. I was always taught that science starts with a hypothosis and then comes the proof. Many times a proof isn't found or is inconclusive.

Now that being said, religion has no place in a public school. If this is just a way to push creationism, then it is an outrage. But from what I gather they are simply trying to offer the idea that it might not be completely correct. I am very okay with that. And if they do prove it wrong, well great, I look forward to seeing it on Nova.

However a Film/Video major friend, and big Apple advocate quickly corrected me. Firewire is, and with recent cable providers needing to support it, well there is all the video-in you need. We got chatting and a lot started to fit in place. For example the new G5 iMacs and Cinema displays support VESA mounts, and how H.264 is going to be huge. As well as there great support for DVI. Now granted $1200 is a lot to pay for a 17" TV, Let along a lot more for the 30", but it isn't like they don't have a potential solution. iTV or iVideo sounds good to me.

The equipment is all around the same cost, but the sound from the tubes is gorgeous. I am working on setting up an old G3 as a music server. But there is no way in hell that I would use FM. I am using an M-Audio 24/96 as the source and keeping everything in Loseless AAC.

A lot of what comes out from good music is the D/AC. This can greatly change the sound of music. Anyways, IMO this article was dumb. Yes, I love tubes, but this guys approach with FM and iPod as the transport, terrible. I love the iPOD, but it is not the the end-all device that many try to make it.

With WAP and the amazing support that Symbian has for JAVA and Web technologies it is a great replacement. They just brought out AvantGo and Tipic has a Jabber client which gives me IM to anything. So in short, this phone rocks. Many have slammed the number pad, but once you get use to it, you realize it is better and easier to use. Beyond that I love the loudspeaker mode.

Mix all this with TellMe (VoiceXML services) and eventually VOIP, I can totally see PDA's vanishing. They are too big, and most the time you really just want to display information. So a nice screen is still needed, but as display only.

Yep, it could happen, I already have ditched the PDA.

WM9 gives great compression and great quality. We saw this when WMA started to do what MP3's could in half the space. 2) The tools rock. I have been converting DVD's to VCD's for a while. The tools are a pain in the ass. Recently I have been wanting to build a media box to host movies. WM9 Encoder reads in VOB's directly. Hidden feature, beyond that, with the codecs it can keep the 5.1 Dolby and does a great job with the video. I am starting to script it, and soon I will have a nice solution were I pop in a disc, double click an icon, and it rips and compresses, adds to my library and will be available for viewing.
