  4. So I can get 0.05% at Boeing's credit union? No thanks. Why would I do that when GS pays 21 times more?

Because "savings" accounts are an awful deal if you're trying to actually make money off of the interest. If you have $10k that you can let sit in your savings account for 5 years, at a 1.05% APY you will make about $500 in that time. Tell you what, I'll give you that $500 up front if you let me hold on to that $10k for five years. Does that sound like a good deal now?

A savings/checking account is just a place to store your money on hand so that somebody can't break into your house and take it all. Go stick your money in a Roth IRA or a 401(k) instead if you actually want to save.

But "savings" accounts are great for getting a trickle of bonus while you park some of your cash you need for liquidity purposes. I'd rather get $500 over that 5 year period than $25.

FYI, I live in, and my daughter attends school, in this district. Here are a few details not in TFS (direct from LCPS):

In response to this incident, the Sheriff’s Office, Fire Marshal, LCPS and the CIA announced that this particular training program has been suspended until a thorough review of all procedures is completed. As part of the training exercise last week, canine explosive detection training was conducted in areas inside and outside of Briar Woods. During the outside portion, a container holding the training material was hidden inside the engine compartment of a bus. At some point, a portion of the material appears to have fallen from the container into the engine compartment. The material that fell from the container was not recovered following the training. On Wednesday night, the Sheriff’s Office and Fire Marshall’s Office used three canine units to inspect any buses that were parked at Briar Woods during the training exercise purely as a precaution. No further traces of the training material were found.

Saying that they "left some explosives on the bus" is a simplification.

The purpose of military training exercises is not to "provoke" somebody, that is childish and silly.

The purpose is to practice fighting in the conditions that a war might take place in. In case it happens.

If we wanted to "provoke" them, we would just fire artillery across the border, and watch them be provoked.

If you think the only reason we do exercises over there is to practice, then you're just eating a different brand of propaganda for breakfast.
