Cell may be more applicable to general purpose tasks than GPGPU, yes, but I recall hearing from several Playstation 3 developers that the synergistic processing elements, or "SPEs"--the only part of the Cell architecture that this board includes--are agonizingly difficult to program for because of the incredibly small amount of local memory available to them. I want to say it's 256 KB?
Given 4 SPEs, that's a total of a megabyte of memory, shared 4 ways. I'd say these add-in cards are arguably even more limiting than a graphics card.
I'm pretty sure EV-DO is distinctly CDMA. It's the only 3G option here in Corvallis, OR right now, and it's provided by Sprint, who deals exclusively in CDMA.
I took it to mean that anything will pass for a girl.
Since the function presupposes you're drunk, and given the drinking habits and/or standards of some guys I know, that doesn't seem too far fetched at all.
This sounds like sort of a flip of what Adobe announced recently with their "compound eye" camera lens. The benefit with that, I suppose, is that you'd be able to use your existing camera body provided the lens had the right adapter.
It looks like here we've got an image sensor that would allow you to use your own lens, again provided that whatever camera body it found its way into had the right adapter. They also mention that it doesn't necessarily need an objective lens, though, and that's interesting...
Man, I have the same sound set up for when I receive a text message.
One time, while my friend was giving me a tour of her workplace, as we were going through an older, disused part of the building, the other member of our group asked "what's in here?" We walked over to him to find out, and the instant that we opened the door, I got a text message. I don't do a lot of texting, and no one else knew about me having that sound set up on my phone.
It was perfect. We all just kinda looked at each other in disbelief for a good five seconds before we busted out laughing. I couldn't have planned it any better.
With a Glide wrapper. A proxy library that makes available the Glide API functions, but internally does some voodoo and maps them to another 3D API like OpenGL or Direct3D.
Half-Life, as you may remember, had a miniGL driver designed for better performance on Voodoo cards. There was also the third-party WickedGL "drivers" that did the same kind of OpenGL-to-Glide translation for other applications, using a drop-in opengl32.dll replacement. In both cases, the application treated the card like OpenGL, but the card ultimately received Glide calls, which performed better.
A Glide wrapper is the reverse: take an application expecting Glide, and help it make OpenGL or Direct3D calls.
I was playing with a female paladin who I can only assume did not speak english as a first language. "She" was exceedingly hurried, bouncing around, drawing aggro and generally careless in her actions--and didn't seem terribly receptive to the requests or recommendations of anyone else in the party.
Trying to be tactful but express concern with the behavior, I said "you're a little gung ho, aren't you?"
So I guess another apology is in order. I'm blown away that wasn't some copy-paste response that's just gone under my radar until today.
Now if you could direct me to the "(valid) criticism" (I don't even see anything that could particularly be referred to as a critique) in the great, great grandaddy post, I'll walk away into the sunset fully humbled.
As an aside, if you want to curb paranoia, you might consider, you know, not posting AC. Just a thought.
I would like to say I carry no particular Bush bias myself, it was lighthearted in spirit. I guess these things are too inflammatory to take lightly now. I sincerely apologize, both for offending you and for the state of the universe such that I inadvertantly strike close to home with such simple words.
Consider seppuku as good as committed.
IHBT. IHL.
I'm fairly confident they're just using 'Los Alamos' as an ill-conceived shortened form of Los Alamos National Laboratory. It's common if you live in New Mexico, in my experience. Delicious ambiguity.
However, since you bashed Bush, all misunderstandings are naturally excused!

That's pioneering? I didn't think we'd quite gotten to the point where a DRM-free CD was the exception rather than the rule...
Tell that to the people mixing albums from the ground up for 5.1 listening.

All you need is two NICs. Viola.
I have a cello, will that work?
BAM!
(40 rods) per (1 hogshead) = 10.4761905 feet per US gallon

Oh man. I hate to reply twice, but I didn't even notice the related video in my other post, which is even more on-topic.
This is exactly what is being proposed.
Here is one that's under a minute long.
I actually gained a bit of respect for him after seeing that commercial.
You mean this one? http://www.penny-arcade.com/images/2002/20021125h.gif

But... has Netcraft confirmed it?

WRONG. Ahem:
"In Soviet Russia, PDF is apathetic about YOU!"
...but internally does some voodoo...
Oh god, no pun intended. Please don't hurt me.

Not as long as Canon, it would appear. As pointed out by someone waaay up the comments.
I remember seeing a press release just recently about a successor to this (here), but I didn't realize the old technology had been around for so long.
A fine damn question, and I don't know why it was modded funny.
I'd love to play Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory with a mouse, a respectable number of pixels, HDR...
I know some developer(s) patched out StarForce in a later version, but even that's not good enough in my opinion. I don't want AIDS medication.
