Starting at $1200 a year, 3 days on and 3 days off. How can you go wrong?
Maybe we're approaching this economic revival plan all wrong. Why give the people free money when we could make them work it off:)
Yep. What he's getting out of this is the energy it took to polarize those magnets. Lots of energy, to be sure, but all provided by the good ole earth.
"Judge: You see, we know this guy owes you money and doesn't want to pay it, but he's really well connected and we can't do anything about it. In return we will garnish his wages untill you're paid what you're owed"
There, fixed that for you. Courts do it all the time.
Let me advocate the devil for a second- what if the penalties are already high, but *gasp* they aren't being levied?
Why, then someone would have to send over a high tech team to assist the authorities in catching the criminals! And you might see a news story about it on some websit...wait a minute!
zzzz..*snort* roomba!...zzzzzzzzz *dreams of capresso*
Back OT:
I don't trust them as far as I can throw them. But, that doesn't mean it's not a useful service and that I won't use it. I'll just stash my bank records somewhere else.
See? simple!
particularly because the "investigators" in question are mediaSentry, whos douchebaggery has been well documented. Heres hoping this all ends badly for them.
Yeah, and how is it the US's problem if we farm out security to an external security firm like blackwa...
Oh, wait, you mean it reflects badly on us? What? Why don't people just realize that it's not our fault?
last time i severed my leg with my computer, i was reminded of this fact.
The object of linux SHOULD be to make the computer as easy to use as possible, because the people who care about how their computer actually works are a stastical minority of computer owners. The reason thses viruses spread is that people REFUSE to be educated. If your goal is to become a mainstream OS [which I'm not convinced yours is, but it seems to be the goal of the majority of the linux community], your job is to offer more noticeable features [e.g. less slowdown due to viruses, etc] than windows without addint any more required user input.
joe blow doesnt want to think about his computer. he just wants it to play deer hunter 2005 faster.
yeah, i was horrified when i went to whitehouse.com in high school too. so horrified i had to go back a couple times just to make sure i was so horrified. it was terrible. just terrible.
IANAL, but it seems that with the major investment ibm has been making in GPL'd code, you might be able to convince their (rather large) legal department to assist, inasmuch as it would solidify the position of the courts on the side of GPL'd developers.
This seems like the slam dunk decision that could set a good precedent for more nebulous cases later.
i think the most telling "benchmark" on the whole site are the mac users comments.
I realize that every community has it's crackpots, but as a long time linux user looking to go to a G5 from intel chips, it kinda makes me want to distance myself from the Mac crowd as much as possible.
I think they convey the exact type of blind fanatacism that has dissuaded mainstream computer users from linux for years.
this is true! I just watched AP:Goldmember last night and austin drives the mini while Goldmemeber and Mr. Roboto's henchmen drive sparrows...More Irresponsible reporting on slashdot!
halo did it to me. Playing that game late at night with the level of compelling storyline and advanced AI going on, you get this scary feeling that they actually DO know what youre doing.
which brings up point # 2: mmmmm..halo 2
