I know 'flat screen' is now commonly used in place of 'flat panel', but come on, this is Slashdot, we should be the elites when it comes to technology, and we should know better to use the more accurate term compared to common folks. I have a CRT television that at the time of purchase, was advertised as a 'flat screen TV' because it has a flat rather than a convex screen surface. I also used to have a 'flat screen monitor', which was a CRT with a flat screen surface.
Dubiously, Malaysia is in the "Resistant" category. We're such a small county, and I believe we have less than 10 internet service providers. We should be in either significant or severe risk category. Something doesn't smell right.
Personally I think this is an ingenious use of technology. You people are so paranoid about privacy. You seem to be able to find a sinister side to everything, don't you? Come on, get over it. Let's celebrate creativity instead of always raining on people's parade.
I wonder how Google is able to map the traffic density in countries where Google Map navigation is not available. For example, Google Map navigation is not available here in Malaysia, so I use a modded version of the Google Map android app that allows navigation internationally. Surprisingly, I can turn on the Traffic layer in the app and it would show the traffic density. Is Google actually getting the data from the modded apps? I would be surprised if so many people here are actually using the modded version instead of the official app that disables navigation.
It's interesting how the trend is totally the opposite in my part of the world. I work in a fairly large corporation here in the third world and Samsung/Android is arguably more popular amongst corporate users compared to the iPhone. In any meeting, it's not uncommon to see two-thirds or more or the attendees sporting Samsung Android phones.
I'm not a Christian, but this passage is a bit confusing for me. First it asks you to calculate the number. Then it tells you that the number is 666. If you know the number is 666, what is there to calculate?
Wrong on the greater than 99% part. In the USA, about a quarter of children are brought up by single parents, meaning that at least in the USA, less than 75% of children are brought up by different sex couples.
If you wake up to the same woman for 50 years, it's not much of a shock, but if you wake up next to a 70 year old woman for the first time, lemmie tell you, IT'S A SHOCK!
Well, if you've been married to the same woman for 40 years, waking up next to her on her 70th birthday shouldn't be that much of a shock.
I thought the idea behind patents was to ALLOW copying? See, without patents, people would just keep their ideas/discovery secret, thus retarding technological development and innovation. With patents, people could copy and build on each other's inventions/innovations, while ensuring that the originator or the invention/innovation gets compensated.
I don't see how design patents would help to achieve this.
You're talking out of your arse. 60% percent of Malaysians, including yours truly, are constitutional Malays. The word "Melayu" is clearly printed on each of our identification card. I can categorically state that none of us are immune from prosecution just for being Malay.
Oh, and I did look up Yazid Sufaat. Apparently he did spend 7 years in detention without trial under the Malaysian Internal Security Act. You obviously do not have any idea what you're talking about.
Gorilla Glass is overrated. I have a HTC Desire which has had more than its fair share of drops and bumps. The aluminium casing has dents and scratches all over the place but the screen is still the same flawless piece piece of glass that came with the phone more than two years ago. OTOH, my Galaxy S II came with Gorilla glass, which shattered merely a week after I bought it. I got it replaced but now there's a deep gash in the centre of the screen that I have no idea of the cause.
How the hell did this post get modded insightful? The current Malaysian federal government is made up of secular racially-based political parties. The sole Islamist political party is part of the Federal opposition and is opposing the new law.

And why are Israel and Lebanon classified as "resistant"? Do they each have more than 10, let alone 40, internet service providers?

Yes, this is exactly the point. Yet your comment got downmodded for some reason. Go figure.
As opposed to stealing what belongs to me?

130MB for Minesweeper? Seriously? Dude, that just blows my mind!
On the contrary, Starcraft 2 runs almost perfectly in Wine. It has a Platinum/Gold rating in AppDB

I've had whole NTFS partitions get corrupted, twice. In both instances, the partitions were formatted under Linux, specifically Ubuntu.
Lesson learnt is, never format an NTFS partition under Linux. Personally, I think this functionality should be disabled. It's way too dangerous.

fucking WANKERS
I do believe that's an oxymoron.

You don't use it to make calls? You do know it's a phone, don't you?
What was the rate of death from terrorism before the TSA was created? Did the numbers decrease? If not, we can conclude that the TSA is not effective.
The problem is that he didn't purchase at all. Whether it was digital or not, is completely irrelevant.
The term used in the iTunes web site is "buy music".

The same wikipedia article you linked to says that many expert believe the story is false. Are you like, stupid?
No matter how many blood is in his hand, in Malaysia, as long as you are a Malay, you can get away of any crime you commit
Bullshit. There are thousands of Malays in prisons in Malaysia for various crimes.
What the hell are you talking about? There's no such regulation.
