I am happy about this change with WoW. I personally never saw a point in paying for an addon to the game. Although some of the addons look good that you pay for I am glad to see this change. Ah well just MY opinion.
I am more on the lines of a post cataclysm where everyone starts having dreams of some walking dude, and a old black woman in nebraska... the people gather to these this evil walking guy who can change into a crow, and the old black woman... ultimately God drops a nuclear weapon on the evil crow changling guy in Las vegas and the good people with the old black woman live happily ever after... or did then? As the crow changling evil guy was seen in the jungles!::hides::
I am a layman myself as well. I think this is encouraging for anyone out there who is sick... However, I am still wondering if the whole stem cell way of doing things for cancer research is the better approach. However after RTA I did see that all of the control group died and the mice with the implant 90% were cured. I would want to read a real paper on it in a journal.
Just as a though.... What would happen if the implants do not work on all human beings / test animals/subjects whatever... Say... your body just starts literally killing ALL cells... cancer and normal... I am just wondering if they have a way to stop the process if they need to... Ah well. Good work Doctors!
Well, I guess you don't know much about this then I am guessing. proper restraints would have been half the battle. The other half would have been the crew wearing their pressurized suits. When Challenger was destroyed on lift off, the crew was alive for a good portion AFTER the explosion... I believe what killed them was the sudden impact with the ocean. If the crew had been wearing their pressurized suits, had their visors down and were restrained properly and the parachutes were not MANUAL we might have had a different turn out for the crew.::shrugs:: just my two cents I suppose.
I am disappointed that no one has recommended that this dish be used on a car as a defelctor dish:( Gotta deflect things like... robins, sparrows, crows, kittens, and butterflies from hitting you car! DAMN YOU FOR DIRTYING MY CAR!
Nah been around for a long time. I like to TRY to start discussion. However, I do not know if I have succeeded at my mission. What kind of plan would you have to putting plants on the moon or mars? Upstate NY is helpless unfortunately:(
So after reading the article like a good slashdotter, I got to thinking. This is all possible of course. Some people say soil could be too acidic... Ever grow a pine tree? Growing up we planted a bunch around the house... they required acid to be put into the soil all the time.
Anyway I digress. I am wondering... For the Moon/Mars/Upstate NY, What kinds of plants are the best at surviving almost ANYTHING? Well, marigolds, all the types of grass, etc. Why not remotely set up a dome say.... 100 meters in diameter, and however high... Release the bacteria, oxygen, nitrigen, etc... and just let an ecosystem form for awhile. Then attempt other plants as the grass dies and creates REAL soil, and then figure out a way of expanding upon the dome.::shrugs::
Just my own idea... Could always do the wrath of "KHAAAAANNNNNNNNN!!!" thing and make the genesys torpedo:) I am just wondering why people think this can't work? I bet it could work on mars too... if only it was 50 degrees warmer... Oh well.
I really do feel your pain. When I went off to college in 2000, I was accepted into The College of Saint Rose in Albany, and RIT in Rochester... I wanted to goto RIT but, my parents amde the decision for me. How wonderful eh?
In experience looking for jobs, no one has really cared that I went to a school that primarily produces highschool and grammar school teachers. The CS Department was maybe 30 students... theory based on pretty much everything. programming was NOT something that we got into depth about. I learned pretty much everything I know about programming on my own (Which I think is better than a classroom setting anyway). I would say go to the tech school, as a liberal arts college will provide you way too much theory and not practical knowledge.
Just my cents...
I think light in general keeps me awake... I drive a car with an in dash DVD player, GPS, sattelite radio (glows blue) and a bluetooth thing (glows blue too) maybe thats why I feel awake when I drive? I have no idea.
All the while the Llama loving Stef is promising this to all the clients. Pitir plans to hack the one machine internet and use it to his own ends. The end of the world must be near. Especially with marketing getting involved.
ZOMG!!!!11111oneone!!1! The RIAA got hax0rzed. Well I guess they had it coming to them. While I understand their cause, I do not understand their tactics, their methods, or how they say they fight for the artists. I must say good job to the people who found the SQL injection flaw. May their programmers be whipped and stoned... well... I guess they would just throw lawsuits and blank CD's at their programmers and accuse them of stealing MP3's. Oh well. still great news.
Well, after reading through the article and most of the comments... I am kind of on the fence as to whether or not this is a violation of "privacy" which as we all know, as well educated geeks, is not guaranteed. (I am sure someone will flamebait me for that).
However, I did notice one thing in the article. Apparently, the school administrators also used photos of students on vacation and at family weddings, as well. Now, this might be an issue for me. What if the family was on vacation simply to Canada and the student was 18? legal there. Or to europe? They can drink there too. Does the school's jurisdiction supercede that of the parents? If the parents gave their son/daughter a glass of wine, beer, whatever... Then the school has no right to comment, I believe.
For those photos of those students, do we know if beer is really in that can? Are all those student's parents behind the camera making sure they do not party "too hard?" Because if each parent was there, that would be OK, no?
Anyway, my opinion has little influence on most people on this subject. The school should stick to its OWN jurisdiction, and not troll the internet looking for things on their students.
And this my friends, is why the constitution needs to be ammended, or each state needs to enact privacy guarantees.::shrugs:: my 2 cents. (Even if they aren't copper anymore... )
Well, no... You would name them... birds for example... Conure is the species and then the sub species are: nanday, sun, jenday, cherry head, patagonian, green cheek, cinamon cheek, peach front, etc... Why not the Kranfer Giraffe, Picard Giraffe, etc etc
Well, I am no biologist... But from what I know of most birds, most species can't interbreed... there are sub species... like a scarlet macaw can reproduce with a blue and gold and you get a catalina.... but a Parakeet cannot breed with a macaw... If they ever do... I think I might want one then... but the macaw would eat the poor Parakeet... wouldn't it be better to say 6 subspecies of giraffe?
I have the solution. As a New York Driver, most of you around the country dread me getting on your highway. I drive as fast as I won, change lanes without turn signals, and weave in and out of traffic. My solution: All your roads r belong to me. If its just me on the road, No more traffic jams. However, the idea of driving on the shoulder to bypass the jams is always a valid option here in NY. Or creating your own road. Or, theres always the horn, the middle finger, and random profanity to be yelled out the window.
So, as a conclusion... stay off the road when I am around and you will not be stuck in any traffic jam I may cause. Mawahaha.
Or... Give me my flying car god damn it. I want it NOW!!!
Hey there old friend from Albany... mawahaha. I happened upon this comment you posted. As a user of both XP, Vista and Fedora... I must say there are very few things in Vista that have made me attempt to believe that its not worth the money... (Granted I did get Vista for free with my MSDN account so free is better than paying anything.). Anyway, I like Vista, I really do. Its not good for a development environment, but beyond that, games are amazing on it. XP... Well, everything just works. XP had its issues when it first came out. (Remember I r workededed at Worsted Buyz at that time) But you were right on 98 as far as "worth" it in upgrading... ME you could throw away after giving your donation to M$. Windows 2000 vs NT 4.1 was definately worth it though man. You know that. But I am ranting and have no idea what I am saying now... have fun Mr. DM.
Personally, I don't think it will. A keylogger is a keylogger... I have never seen one attached to a specific browser... usually just logs everything... How can it protect you? The fuzzy pink bunnies in your mind think that you are fooling the bad people on the internet who use myspace and livejournal from getting your data and setting up a fake "you" page only to trick your friends... Or stealing your credit card #'s and buying a nice new BMW all in your name... I could use a BMW though:/
While I do understand what is being said about using two browsers, me personally, I would find that annoying... I only use FireFox... And opening and closing it to open say Opera or IE... that would get annoying after awhile when I know there are products out there that can help protect your data while doing online banking. Speaking of which, I have been doing that since 2000 when I graduated from highschool and ventured into the real world without any issues...
How many of you actually use two separate browsers as described here, I am just wondering...
I tried many games this year... Lord of the Rings Online has got to be the most enjoyable game I have played. But what do I know? I am waiting anxiously for Star Trek Online to come out... lol
Growing up I always loved to take things apart. Everything... My Toys, my parent's stuff like the Kaypro we had, and the Apple II... After I saw this over at engadget earlier and now here, I must say I am glad I am not a kid anymore. I would have taken this sucker apart if we had one and probably set myself on a course to be my own nightlight. Although I do like the cost associated with these things, I always like lower electric bills. However, I fear the kid that wants to see how it works or the hick who decides to take it apart cause they "can fix anything!"
When I worked at best Buy I remember us having wireless canon printers for a short time. I know we always had the HP Wireless printers as well. But Best Buy always seems to pull them quickly cause the only things we could sell with it were paper and ink... no cable:( The 08975123908475239048% markup on USB cables was just that important... although I knew when I left Worst buy that I should have purchased a shit load of USB Cables... they were like 75 cents on my discount at the time. No idea how much they are now, I heard the discount went south int he last few years.
HP, Youa re bad, very very bad! Let Staples sell other company's ink for your printers... but on another note, I knew I missed my calling when I decided to become a programmer... Damn $8000 a gallon for ink... I wish I had about ohhh 10 gallons of ink. Its not so much to ask... blah...
Wow, Peter jackson looks like he lost about 890572349087 pounds. Good for him. As for The Hobbit... Geeze, get a move on, I wanna see it yesterday already!

Hey I wanna dry my laundry too you know. I'll test this stuff out... I'd love to be able to download a full HD DVD of Porn in 2 seconds. Dammit.
