  1. correction- a lot of people think everything is government -- when it is not, it's contracted out.

  2. Funny how it only takes a generation and people think that the new normal has been eternal...

Gov waste and corruption are OK as long as it is lower than the profit margin of private management... Even then, private isn't always better... look at ISPs...

Trump would delegate it to a few corrupt billionaires who'd pocket any savings and commit fraud (like many did to get that rich....--> ) Trump would believe whatever FOX told him while the Gov would lose massive amounts of money while claiming savings... Maybe they'd play some accounting games but they don't seem to bother much anymore. Now everybody just flat out LIES and calls truth fake news. (25% of the nation is retarded and they vote.)

Look at NYC which spent billions to fail to redo a system just to save a little money on employee time cards etc. Have you been involved in gov contract projects? They are a moving target that is pushed by political winds-- it is no surprise private contractors have so much trouble. The bidding contractors generally only have 1 skill: how to get contracts (and bribe for them.) Their other talent is not going to jail; wait a few losses out and then get contracts AGAIN.

Obama had a few IT people trying to fix just a little bit and they didn't have a good time of it. You have to fight entrenched powerful PRIVATE forces -- a lot of what people think is government has already been privatized out -- government does better when they in-house; their contracting work always seems to be a disaster with far LESS accountability.

Pursuit of perfection... like the pursuit of Utopia is actually EVIL.

Politically, it may never be worth the cost-- since it messes with "mutually assured" destruction.

It did nothing to collapse the USSR. They were on a path to implosion before Reagan encouraged their acceleration of it... and he did so at our expense because our implosion was also accelerated... but I'll just leave that there because when ours happens you won't remember or likely be smart enough to make the connection. Nobody won the cold war. Arguably, nobody win's a war, both sides lose... the winner just loses less of what matters (which could differ, resulting a debate about who actually won.) The amount the military industrial congressional complex grew even more out of control was not worth it. Gorbachev was the man who really ended it; once he got in they were going to change... sadly he couldn't transition them and the crooks took over. Look into the rise of Putin, I dare you. Also we all cheer when "productivity" goes up completely unaware of what that usually means and how shallow those numbers usually are. The idea that jobs/employers/capitalism exists to provide work so people can have a better life has completely died off... we are supposed to worship the "job creators" and quietly sacrifice jobs and wages on the alter of the almighty "job creators." The classic argument for capitalism is dead-- which is a socialist argument btw; the very selling point has gone and only mindless dogma remains. It's like the Star Trek reboots, or putting a MacOS theme on Windows-- it's shallow stuff to fool simple people.

People also fear (often wrongly) that they will be harmed in some way for using their rights.... but we also have almost no rules for firing in this country unless you are a minority or a woman with a lot of proof; HR is designed to come up with legally safe ways of doing illegal and immoral acts. Other countries with different rules do not allow you to easily be fired for some political bumper sticker (actual true story around here.)

The sole purpose for business in the USA is to maximize profits, the important aspects of providing jobs with some purpose have been forgotten and attacked dogmatically. They don't have to focus on as many things at a time despite having an overwhelming amount of input. It is like learning to hear 1 person out of a crowd of people - better filtering means less time wasted on hearing their words. Or how when reading is made more difficult reading comprehension goes down. Also, different parts of the brain do different things and those do work in parallel but that is not true multitasking. If you train part of your brain to do 1 thing and another part to do something else that is the closest we can get but the overlap and integration involved in nearly everything make even talking impact driving a car... All those tiny tweaks matter to the more skilled players who can notice. I have my set of options I quickly pick, it doesn't take time. At first finding the right ones did but it added depth and most the time it didn't matter because I'd clobber everybody else whatever I ended up with.

The weapons have changed little but now they include everything all at once when before it was a subset. You can counter weapons now like you did before and the blue shell can be countered if you have the skill when in the past it was just about impossible regardless of skill.

The game is more intense with a full set of players and that is more of a problem than the number of items. The old one seems slower and is less appealing and the new one pushes you so hard that it doesn't feel old like the older versions because it is so busy and you are less comfortable - you never as safe. Part of this is the huge number of repeat players who want something NEW but also get upset if they change it. In this case, they even keep repeating tracks or variations of the old tracks! Oddly, Nintendo messed up on battle modes many times because that is the only part they have been willing to drastically change over the years.

So you make it the SAME but more intense (an easy safe change;) like a movie sequel is rarely good and when they are it's usually because it is a rehash with just enough changes to make it not feel like a clone. They also have a problem with making the sequels more intense on every similarity. (When is a super hero going to stop a lesser threat than the previous movie??)

So if you combine that with an addiction of heavy stimulation without an ability to focus longer than a goldfish you get somebody who has a strong need for many inputs so that they can jump around constantly--- like a channel surfer addict but worse. I've seen these millennials on their phones listening to music, texting, or using some app WHILE watching a movie... and the heavy resistance to not doing this in a movie theater. I've taken away the phone and they end up thinking a movie they should like was boring or they don't like it as much; while total shit is OK with the phone. (if the movie has a good hook of suspense / fear it keeps them engaged so it's no surprise horror is popular and the exception. This only works if they are refreshed on the feeling every 8 seconds. Yes, I've actually counted the seconds. Then it's back to the phone stimulation. BTW, there is zero creativity and imagination which makes sense because that develops from the lack of external stimulation. It also fosters more consumption... )

Either the content is slow and stupid or they can manage it with their lower IQ due to multitasking-- such as a family movie with subtleties only adults get but in this case it's having something for people operating in low IQ mode but gets great reviews for supporting thinking adults and slow adults.

You've probably noticed this when you watched a movie again and noticed a lot because the first time you missed things because you were tired or multitasking or forgot much of it (unless you are one of the 1/3 in permanent low IQ mode. If you are unsure, just check if you still support Trump.)
