Seldom do I post "flamebait", but I am ultimately quite disgusted by the "news" of h8x0rs planning a large-scale attack on either of the political parties, admittedly, I am a Republican, but this is total shit, and it's probably a bunch of little lamerz somewhere that aren't old enough to even vote. There's a reason the vote is given to 18 and older, non-felons.
I hope these folks meet with justice swiftly, as their desire to disrupt the political machine is akin to bombing a train station in Madrid. - I leave this parallel as an exercise to the reader. The first ammendment does allow them to protest, but it doesn't permit them to deny someone else's speech with their actions.
It's ironic that the internet gives people in other countries (and certainly some of these lamerz are) the rights (on some level) that the US has, and they in many cases may not, and at that very instant they use them to deny the rights of others.
Shame on any of you that condone this behavior. Black-hats are not good for ANY of us, and shame on/. for giving them a stage.
Not only that, but it's more easy to break security this way than to do it computationally... Brute Force seems like it'd be detectable very quickly these days...
haven't tried it yet, but I am pretty sure you could record the IR using AUDACITY, a nice GPL'd sound editor. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ - incidentally (and coincidentally) it's the SF.net project of the month for 7/2004.
that's a "documentary"? if you can call it that. Holy War! I call "not it." Oh, and shame on slashdot for putting a link to a video site IN the article, experiencing meltdown in 5..4..3..2..1.....
right, but did you do any seeking of tracks? or did you just let it run? I do discharge the ipod periodically, but like I said, I can have about 40% left and seek 5 tracks and be "done" - this is simply not a realistic estimate, no matter how "inexact" the "science" is.
I have a 3rd gen, I seldom listen to it more than about 3 hours at a time. But, I almost always have about 50% life on the indicator when i am finished. I haven't had any real issues. I think that the algorithm the iPod uses to figure out it's remaining battery power is like M$'s "Time Remaining" bars... it's WAY OFF. It should account for the long term trend more than the localized trend. You can seek a few songs with 200 left on the indicator (out of about 500) and the iPod will think it's got less than 50, putting it into "no power left" mode. This seems like it should be an easy fix.
No disrespect intended against the Fedora team, but I find that this release schedule is not so hot. There have been A LOT of issues with my installation of FC2 on a standard dell box. Maybe this was just a fluke, but I can't understand the whole idea of a point release every few months. Nonetheless, where's the torrent?
asside from making me feel ddrruunnkk, your example right there proves the opposite, I read it SSLLOOWWEERR.:-) But you're correct, word-size alone doesn't do much at all, it's the rest of the system around that can be improved, but you knew that.
I am irritated when people "taint" the iPod by doing such thngs, not only because it does very well at the job it was designed for, but that it bastardizes the thing... asside from that, it's just a ploy to steal music, which is not what the iPod culture is about. Anyone that disagrees is just a common thief.
Well, I own a mac, so anything GIS that runs on it, I am happy with I just found GRASS Complete (like "Gimp.app") Anybody have a lot of experience with it and willing to "tutor me"?
ohhhhh, THINNER clients... I get it... errr, ummm. The solution to this problem is X-rated. I hope MS gets started on the necessary security measures to make sure my computing is "safe" on this project.
a) I was not referring to my own hiring practices. As Joel Spolsky says, two things applicants need to have 1) "smart" 2)"gets things done."
b) the company *had* hired people that did not do good work for the clients, finding people that can get a job done and get it done well IS difficult. Like I said before, people have the tech skills, but not the business sense needed to apply it properly in many cases.
Knock on wood, but I agree with AC, even though they wouldn't own up to it. I know a company that was in the midwest that was STARVING for staff, paying a decent wage, mainly because the "market was bad" for them, they couldn't find anybody that was qualified, they were all employed elsewhere. "Owning your own website company" is NOT enough anymore - get some certs and get you head out of your ass.
most state lotteries do not have 4-digit numbers - think about your odds then..
with numbers from 1-4053, and only 4 balls, thats
269440767451800:1 odds, good luck.
Is it just me, or was the article about the 10 laws more of an advert. for I, Robot than the 10 laws, and anyway, WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY?!

and somehow IE7 will introduce exploits through malformed CSS, and PNG streams! Can't wait for a "hole" new set of flaws!
Hey MS, do us all a favor and at least make "100%" mean 100% in the CSS spans.

well, I wasn't trying to be humorous, but I did forget who my audience was... sorry. :-)
UUUGGLYYY... and WHO would want one of these? I mean who actually plays video games that much?
this is NOT insightful, at the most it's flamebait, try to be unbiased when moderating.

Asside from the new exterior, what's changed on the interior? 60GB? Any new features, let the Rumor mill take hold.
maybe you're new here. FC2 broke installations WITHOUT modifying the XP partitions at all.

What is up with the moderators? HOW is that a TROLL?

In soviet russia, the ipod put the 747 in it!

somebody explain to me again why we all need mobiles AND pagers?
