    Yeesh, take a microbiology class.

The cat has been out of the bag for a very long time as far as making your own killer microbe. Hell, you can order kits to teach kids how to grow thier own antibiotic resistant germs, all you need is an incubator (or anything (can you say old oven) that you can hold a steady temp at). Publishing this sort of this would do no harm, and would significantly speed up drug research, and drastically lower prices. In any event the very huigh end stuff you need for gene sequencing is already tightly control, so no, Osama aint going to be making a "super anti-Satan" germ anytime soon.

I move one dollar from my account into his, all you need is his number that is all. I figured it would throw her off for a month and that would be that. As it worked out though the deposit happened - it failed to record on her accounts. This drove her stark raving mad for about 3 months being off by a dollar. She finally went in and I guess they hand went through her deposits and what not. When confronted about it I made the defense of "But, I owed my brother a buck - he didn't think I would pay up, but I did, sorry forgot to tell you." My brother had to physically restrain her :)

Yeah - I can run linux on that. If the price is right it looks to me like a fun little linux box (MAME, xmms, xine, and anything else you want) hot swappable batteries and video out?? Might be the "portable" computer (drag it everywhere - plug in as needed) that everyone hasa been talking about. The video chipset even looks nice. Will it run Half-Life 7? No, but could it blow the pants off a GBA? Yeah, I think so.

We have a number of old laser discs in the department and as one by one the players fail over the years I began to try to hunt down the original copywright holders. Long story short I eventually did, but even thier legal department had no record of ever owning the things. They had bought the company that had bought the company that originally produced these (educational) laser discs. So here we are with 40-50 of these things and n way to leaglly copy them even for internal use so that our instructors can use clips of them in lectures. This is just plain stupid. At least with this that would be a sunset on this whole mess nstead the info on these and the hours of craftmanship that went into them with laguish and die, while some damn fool recreates the same type of stuff over again.
