Yeah..I have it also. That's why I always say things that give me bad kharma here (fuck you very much,/.).
Anyways, there's Ritalin, Dexedrine and a couple other drugs which help a lot. I only found out after 49 years. Maybe you'll figure it out now, fix it and get on with it.
I mean...it's not like they are there legally because Congress declared war or the UN sanctioned it or something. Maybe it's just a big flash mob that got planned on some.gov site and they never invited us civilians.
Did anyone else catch that bit in the article at the bottom? It asks readers to 'sound off' on how they feel about the names being made public. How the fuck do you get your Kazaa user name more public than going on Kazaa in the first place?????
Did the person putting that statement in at the bottom actually ever use Kazaa????
With the blind (re, unthinking) anti-Microsoft and anti-software-patent fervour on Slashdot, it should be interesting to see which one is more detested here.
Am I the only one that gets bored by the constant rehash of these and a couple of other (SCO for one) subjects here? And the only one stupid enough to keep coming back just because one out of ten posts here are actually interesting and original?
I'm from the US now living in NZ and the major bookchains here don't even carry Heinlein let alone decent computer books (can you say "Windows for Dummies"?). Find one of these.
Radio Shack is like Dick Smith in Oz/NZ, meaning it sucks, but Fry's (or however it's spelled) Electronics often has some cool stuff.
Really now.... 'stuff that matters'? Looks like the/. editors have as much of a life as this guy.
Is USB faste enough or is there an alternative

Is the USB on the XBox fast ebough for that? Alternatively is there any other bus access on the XBox fast enough to handle streaming video. I guess what I'm really asking is whether there's a high enough bandwidth access without soldering modchips in (once was enough!).

Waste of time spending hours carefully typing submissions that get rejected, but EVERY SINGLE DAY another rant about software patents or Microsoft security weakness gets accepted.
I think it's possible, especially with the new Linux no modchip boot if it works as advertised (I haven't tried it yet). Anyone out there working on this or want to? I'm up for it, but not by myself.
You're assuming that the people here are otherwise intelligent. Get used to it. Say good things about Linux and you're insightful, say something good about Windows and you're flamebaiting or trolling. Say something stupid and you're insightful. Say something funny as hell like this guy did and you're trolling.
My kharma's gone from positve to bad and back to positive. Now I'm working on the bad kharma again. So easy to manipulate these people. That's about all that keeps me coming back here now.
I haven't read the Wired article yet, but I would guess it's not just an ion machine. It works in a vacuum also if it's what I think it is. (I'll read the Wired article later). I think a guy name Townsend Brown was working on it before he died. Lots of people claimed WITH GREAT AUTHORITY that it was an ion machine.
He had his detractors, too. remins me of a guy I worked with. He was the software lead with a EE background. He told me that leds would not provide a voltage when light was applied. I proved him wrong. He also tried to tell me (I'm just a dumb software engineer) that if you bent an optical fiber the light would be constant at the receiving end. I proved to him that light escapes the more you bend the fiber.
The thing is with pedantic people that they KNOW the truth until it bites them in the ass. Betcha you learned a lot in college and believed every word of it.
I moved to NZ from the US partly because of morons with moronic attitudes like you. South Africans (the white kind with British ancestry) are immigrating here in droves because things are so fucked up after years of British apartheid.
Maybe you should go to college and then join the Peace Corps for a couple of years and go over there and help educate them on birth control.
Oh... one more thang. This response isn't really meant for you because you're obviously too stupid to get it, but for anyone else here with some reasoning power who might actually be wondering if you actually have a good point.
Lucky you. You weren't born in the Congo.
They can't go to the local 7-Eleven and buy 'ribbed for her fucking pleasure' condoms like you can. Then again, you probably don't need them anyways because what kind of moron girl is gonna put up with that sort of idiocy.
You guys who disagree are wrong. If I feel heat on the case of the computer that means heat is being dissipated by the case. The fan is blowing the hot air around, mostly out the holes, but in the process some air contacts the metal walls of the case which is transferring the heat from the inside to the outside. Is that so hard to understand?
Hey here's a thought! Why don't you remove all the insulation from your house walls and let the resultant air do its job of insulating. Put a bunch of fucking fans in your house in the winter time and that'll keep you warm, right?
Sometimes I wish I was dumb so that life would seem simpler and yet more mysterious like it must to you guys; the ones who make stupid statements as if they were true and especially the ones who mod those stupid statements up as if they were insightful and actually not stupid.
... it helps keep your PC nice and warm and toasty inside.
Metal conducts heat. The side of my computer is warm. Ergo it is probably helping transfer heat outside of the computer where it belongs.
I have a book called, Algorithms for Image Processing and Computer Vision. J.R. Parker. Wiley Coputer Publishing. All that stuff is in there including code samples.
I actually have a couple of patent apps in (and screw the people who don't like that) for some pattern recognition-type stuff so I have a fair idea of how I would go about it. You're definitely on the right track.

To say nothing of that much mass. Instead up your engine in your lap you end up with 4 tons of lead up your ass.
All I have to do is try to try to post something, anything and I'm fucked. Is that the same as sex?

Not only possible, but probable. The wing melting and disintegrating as a result of the breach more like caused the crash.

Make it so friggin expensive that no one can afford more than 1 call a month.
