Of course, the 10th amendment insists that the _federal_ government doesn't have the right to ban anything unless it crosses state lines, but we know that FDR and his handpicked Supreme Court dismantled that.
In case anyone thinks this kind of "false flag" is above our federal government, consider "Fast and Furious", and what its possible purpose could be if it clearly wasn't to track down and eliminate drug runners.
Where are the environmentalists who should be protesting the increase in the use of resources, especially petroleum products, that will be required when all these employees return to an office? Especially when many of them took the job under the betrayed promise that they would not have to often commute to an office that was perhaps an hour or more away?
It took Waters' handlers two days to correct that. 750,000, which sounds nothing like 1.7 million, was the first number they came up with. The second number was 170,000. I'm not convinced that they have anything like real statistics backing up this claim. They have not provided any credible source for these numbers. I don't want to poison the well, but Waters is famous for spouting this kind of nonsense, and the constituents who keep reelecting such an incompetent buffoon are doing themselves a disservice. BTW, the Obama administration's most optimistic numbers for January indicated 157,000 new jobs-- so losing 170,000 is one month lost even in our stagnant economy.
Frankly, that sounds more like incompetence. Who would run out to buy another Pontiac if the last one rusted out? Engineers are not infallible. Either there was a flaw in the original design or a last minute change, perhaps in the wheel well, resulted in a conflict.
You're just echoing what neomarxists like Van Jones are: there is no scarcity, there is "plenty of money out there", and the "rich" need to pay their "fair share".
No, actually, I don't see why getting bicyclists to pony up is contingent on getting drivers to pony up when you haven't provided the "real costs" you're talking about. Until you do, you're just like those who wish to raise taxes ad infinitium on the rich because you never believe they are paying their "fair share".
I'd get off and walk the bike across if there's no "no pedestrians" sign. You don't have to have a crosswalk to cross. Or, you could get one of the emergency vehicle strobes that makes the signal change:-P
I know this is mostly facetious, but I want to make sure you realize that the car puts out actual toxins like sulfur dioxide and carbon monoxide. We're just talking about carbon dioxide here. It's apples and oranges. You might as well have a test where the guy can choose whether to be run over by the bike or the car.
Does the House have a minimum stupidity requirement?
FTFY. Remember, we've got Maxine Waters saying 170 million jobs will be lost due to the sequester, when we don't even have that many Americans in the work force right now. Stupidity is standard equipment for the politician. If you keep pointing at one party, you'll let the other one off the hook.
OHHHH yes. And even better, they complain about YOU, saying YOU didn't put it out when YOU should be complaining about them being a no-show. Somehow these deadbeats are buddies with the people running the group, because they invariably stay on while YOU get kicked off. Even better are the THIEVES, who steal anything else they find near where you left the free item. It's not worth it; the scumbags have killed Freecycle.
Does it matter? It's censorship. Why do we think any intrusion on people's private lives is OK?

Boy, is your nick appropriate.
FTFY
I'm sure that won't alarm the anti-fracking crowd.

It would be kinda cool to run behind the thing and let it loose near the line so you can watch it skid and flip over.
Shows you have never lived with cats. Put out an empty box and it be full of cats within ten minutes.

I wouldn't recommend eating an urban pigeon.
My husky/malamute mix was also a good mole hunter.
You're lucky if that's all they do to the furniture.
That raises the question: is is possible for Slashdot moderators to mod up stupid posts while they are in a vegetative state?

If you believe that, you're obviously not one of the smart ones.

Talk about a waste of resources. I'd bus in a bunch of environmentalists to protest your vainglorious "art project".
Lead and cadmium don't evaporate.
Reuse is more efficient, Captain Planet.
