    I ordered two coupons, one for my receiver set and one for my VCR.

    Can anyone explain how the VCR's box is gonna know "record channel 10 at 8pm, and channel 12 at 10pm, and channel 15 at 2am" ??? Am I going to have to program the second decoder with parallel multiple programs to the VCR? Or will these boxes have time-programs?

    Or does this kill multiple timed recording completely?

    Headline is correct as-is. "...copying...is verboten" is correct. The prepositional phrase "of DVDs (and) CDs" does not change the singular subject ("copying") into a plural; the verb ("is") must match its subject ("copying").

    There never has been any requirement for a U.S. citizen to possess any form of identification whatsoever. Much less carry one at all times. Much less produce one upon demand.

    Wrong. According to Visa's Rules for Visa Merchants: http://usa.visa.com/download/merchants/rules_for_v isa_merchants.pdf

    Page 28 directs the sales clerk, "The final step in the card acceptance process is to ensure the customer signs the sales receipt and to compare that signature with the signature on the back of the card..."

    On page 29, note "Although Visa rules do not preclude merchants from asking for cardholder ID, merchants cannot make an ID a condition of acceptance. Therefore, merchants cannot refuse to complete a purchase transaction because a cardholder refuses to provide ID. Visa believes merchants should not ask for ID as part of their regular card acceptance procedures..."

    There is no requirement to possess, much less carry, much less produce on demand, any identification other than your signature.

    It may not be a law, but it is part of the merchant's agreement with Visa or MasterCard. The merchant's bank can fine them, or pull their ability to take credit cards, if they refuse to accept your card. You should never have to show photo identification, and you should call your bank at the number on your card and report any merchant that won't accept your card.

    At least in the USA, merchants are prohibited from requiring photo identification from credit card customers. Your signature is your identity.

    Why would I show *anyone* my driver's license (other than a police officer who pulls me over whilst I am driving)? That has my full name, date of birth, HOME ADDRESS, and could indeed be used to *steal* my identity. Your driver's license is for driving an automobile only.

    It would have been useful for the reviewer to briefly outline what Fark is and what its context is. I have been net-enabled since 1994 and never heard of Fark, but in reading some of it briely, I did laugh a fair amount.

    Some background would have been helpful.

    Perhaps that is an International-only document.

    In the USA, it is still a violation of a merchant's agreement with Mastercard to require identification. This form on the Mastercard site lets you file a complaint if a merchant insists on identification:
