So basically they're saying Nintendo's biggest problem is mom and dad not being able to get a Wii for the family, and instead buying x number of DSes for each of the kids?
but..the patch is to add support for the online service. if you're not going to have your PS3 hooked to the internet, i'm not exactly seeing the problem in not being able to get it.
don't have the link to any docs off the top of my head, but this is what we use at our office here, its what you describe except pulled down from a network server when needed via PXE LAN booting. works pretty good.
i tried sorta half heatedly to compile the firefox source using the psp toolkit and failed, obviously. but i'm sure some other people with a bit more knowledge have tried, seen the errors, and worked at it.
judging by the other ports we've seen, it wouldn't surprise me at all to see a firefox port. i think the tcp/ip interface on the wi-fi still hasn't been figured out though, so that's probably where most of the effort is concentrated.
if you're still sitting on your 1.5 bios psp and enjoying emulators and source ports of old games, you may want to hang on for a while before the upgrade. sure you'll get a browser, but until someone comes up with a work around for 2.0 (no hints so far) you may be stuck for a while.
but hey i'm sure somebody will figure it out eventually. hopefully before new games start forcing you to upgrade to 2.0 to play.
don't forget source ports of Doom, Doom 2, and ScummVM running at 100% more or less, as well as working VNC, FTP, and IRC apps. not bad for a few month old system.
it seems i spend more time playing homebrews on it than i do on playing 'real' games.
lets you click thru pictures to zoom in farther and farther, using pics from earth- and orbit-based telescopes, as well as photos from the orbiters and command modules.
some are good enough resolution that you can see the lander, albeit barely. you can see the rover tracks in all of them though.
Imagine this this - in 50 years we will have to watch a full screen, un-skipable comercial in order to get to slashdot - and then another one to read the comments. That's what I call progress!
I was always imbarrased for using windows. I would hide in the corner at coffee shops with my toshiba laptop hiding from the disapointing eyes of those harolded mac users. But now I am free. Loosers use linux, not windows. Hurray!!
...wow. i'm not normally one to go nazi on spelling, but good lord.

I wish I had these kinda problems!

it worked for UO, so i'm looking forward to it.

by my count, out of the 30 licensed songs in the game, six were from the 80s..
i was kinda confused when i started out reading the second page of the article.
try this.
check out the Cool'n'Quiet technology in the AMD64 processor line.
Tengen released an unlicensed version, Nintendo had an official version. lawsuits ensue.
it's not much worse, judging by the picture. i can't figure out a way to hold that that seems like it would be comfortable in my mind.
also, woo, 4 days in and we have our first phantom story of the year!
can anyone tell me what the heck i just read?
it has mirrors in the dropdown, i'm getting 120k/s from the german one.
so who's getting dressed up as what now?
show me a $50 computer anywhere inside an Apple Store. heck, even a $50 component. =D
and if you deny the cookie request you'll never get past it.
sweet.
as far as the compilation errors, yep. =D

still better than watching it on the local highschool a/v club-quality news we get on the local channel (channel 13 in orlando).
at least we got to go up on the roof to see it and didn't have to bother with any talking heads.
at this point PSP Updates most likely.

that blurb refers to backyard telescopy. the Apollo 17 lander and its shadow are visible in this shot:

i hope this doesn't break this site, because it doesn't belong to me.
