I seriously doubt that westinghouse has anything to do with Thorium based reactors not being on the short list despite their many benefits http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thorium#Key_benefits).
I would say it has far more to do with the lack of ability to produce weapons with their byproducts. The US would prefer to get a little something extra out of the deal.

Really, other than the British government (not the people), who's interest intersects with that the of US? I don't know if anyone paid attention to the International Monetary meeting this weekend, but over here in the EU the general consensus is that the US is less and less relevant due to its complete lack of competent leaders, massive debts, and lazy, uncaring masses.

It’s simply amazing how your douchebag leaders can consistently complain about China’s growing aggressiveness to thwart direct US control over their country when no other country in the world has the audacity to stomp on others sovereignty as the US government has.

You people better get your shit together before you end up like all the other has been empires throughout history. Did I mention your leaders are D-Bags? So are our of course, but at least here, the people still can control them. ;)

Kids today think they can do what ever they dang well please since by and large their folks allow them to. I think this translates directly into these little monsters lack of proper social etiquette and respect for anyone around them.
It would be interesting to further break this down into geographic subsets. Since I have lived in Germany, I have noticed that most folks put the hammer down on their little ones.
I have never had a teen or kid call me anything other than Mr.
It all comes down to bad parenting. They should have called the article, "Most parents destroy their kids".

More and more I see on all these tech news sites and blogs that they heard from so and so's tweet that such and such will be released with this and this. Then, all the other news sites link to the first blog who is using twitter as a source of information.

really, this is not all that shocking to me.

I few years back when the Land rover LR3 (when Jag and LR were still with Ford) we took a brand new LR3 out into the desert with the LR team as part of a LR program that was offered.
Anyhow, at one particularly tricky bit (and I am an experienced off roader) the LR3's computer totally crashed to include engine management and suspension management.

What you may now know, is that the LR3 has a special off rood mode which raises the vehicle by several inches for better ground clearance. Well, one side went down, while the other stayed up. This happened to be the downhill off camber side and almost caused the LR3 to roll over.
Once we re-boot, ie. take out the key and restart the car it was fine though.
Still...lots of computers in the those rides and it's hard to catch everything.
