If you read the article, you would have noticed that it is not the Vincent you think of, but the ex-gunman from the Turks. Very odd choice, if I say so myself...
Yeah, you can make back-ups, but their problem lies in the downloading and distributing said back-ups via the internet. Downloading and supplying is different than creating.
Here's why I think they released a demo of it. It's evidently already out, and since it sucks (according to posts i've read) it hasn't been a good seller. Maybe they think releasing a free demo to people will encourage them to buy the full version. Just a thought.
I have an 'all in one' unit', and a couple stomp boxes too, and I agree that the stomp boxes are a lot better, and cooler too. Perhaps Gibson will realize this and have some kind of feature where you could hook up to your computer, download some effects, tweak them to how you like, and patch them to your guitar. Wouldn't it be cool to download an effects package that your favorite artist used on the last album?
I apologize if my post had a rude tone to it, it was not intended, I guess it was a side effect of being concise. Notice my use of tone and effect with applicable subject matter, as I think both are affected by digital effects, which I think suck too. Perhaps this new technology can live a symbiotic life with ol' school technology and totally kick ass.
With what they're talking about, sounds like you'd only have one cable going from guitar to amp. Wouldn't need your effects pedals anymore, it'd either be in the guitar or amp digitally. If that's the case, your fudge factor is minimal.
That's the thing, they aren't going to change. The industry will eventually lose the support of the big labels because they'll go bankrupt. Then it goes back to this discussion http://ask.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=03/01/03/22 3240&mode=thread&tid=141 to find music because no labels will be around to push new music to radio stations, mtv, etc.
I care, just because I love music, but I don't care because I disagree with how labels run business. Win lose situation...
The record labels must be wearing blindfolds. The pirating technology hasn't changed that much since 2000 when Napster ate it, meaning we still download songs and burn them. So what keeps sales declining more and more every year? Well, pretty much everything that everyone has posted before me, prices too high, not signing new (good) talent, pushing rehashed crap that we're sick of, etc, etc. All I want to know is when will it stop?
First off, you liberated your wife?!? That immedeatly signals that you live in a time before woman had the right to vote and that you are already old fashioned thinking. IMHO, I think that you are over reacting. Yes, I think that the government has already stepped too far into our personal and private lives. But given the current events of the world, I expected it to happen. History repeats itself, no big surprise. But living my life in a nutshell and trying to hide from everything is no way to live. What exactly are you afraid of? Getting shipped off to an internment camp? I realize that things aren't right in the government, but when will/were they ever be? I wasn't saying that just because I have nothing to hide makes it ok for them to dive into my personal life. You and I know that the government snooping into lives is wrong, but what is wrong with a grocery store using fingerprints as a form of an IOU? The purpose is to aid those who don't have the cash needed or have a credit card they want to use. It's not like "you buy a book about flying airplanes with your fingerprint and were gonna ship you off to an internment camp". Seriously, I think that too many of you/.ers are way too paranoid.
Is our government getting too big and taking too much control? Yes, I think so too. But I'm not going to get overly paranoid about using a Debit card or not using my real address. I'm not doing anything illegal or wrong so I have nothing to worry about.
It's kinda like communism, it looks good on paper, but carrying it out would never work. With all the P2P networks that exist, when one person pays you 3 cents to download the song, then they put it on the other networks for free, you'd make a lot less then what you should. That would be awesome if it worked though, it would help to get rid of all the sell-out-no-talent-pop-stars that exist today, the ones that are funded by these earn-too-much-money-for-they-do labels. Maybe someday...
While that kind of system would be great for artists that are already well known, what about new artists trying to get their break? With no record label to support the studio efforts and touring, let alone getting the music to radio stations from coast to coast and MTV, the music industry would suffer because it would be even harder for new artists to break through.

You can find them under the videos link at http://www.ebaumsworld.com

They're just using their power to get you to buy both editions. And of course you know, that men, above all else, desire power...
"At the very least a $1000 tax should be laid on all hard disk drives over 2GB." Are you insane? 2GB?!?
Just maybe we'll see about 10 thousand more star wars games, cause there aren't enough....

Maybe air it on battlebots?

Not really, if you look closer, you see that were zero bids on that computer...

How can you seriously be that paranoid? Do you have some kind of disorder? I think there's medication for that....
Thanks, I appreciate it, even though now both of us look like jackasses. Many thanks.
I don't know what a troll is! Someone just define it for me please.
What's a troll?
It's how you use it, right???
How would one "debug" this? I know, that was really lame...
