JFS and LVM came from OS/2 Warp 4.5x.
(OS/2 code, not from the AIX versions)
Enjoy your dead code.:)
Although I am pleased to see many posts insulting the change instead of the usual DEAD DEAD DEAD! posts such as yours.
Yeah, I'm on an OS/2 4.52 workstation (a.k.a eComStation 1.2) which happens to be sitting next to a pile of Slackware, CentOS and even a couple OS/2 based web servers.
I do agree that I'd trust a Linux ATM vastly more than a WinTurd one.
I don't know about you, but no one has my "blanket permission" to enter my property. It's easy to come up with exceptions to any rule, such as if my house were burning down would a kind sould please save my dogs. That is an extreme situation where I would be thanking this person. But on practically anything less than that it is up to my judgement, not someone elses, what should be done about it.... and yes. If some neighbor had the nerve to enter my house without my knowledge, yes, they would be getting arrested for it.
The key here is this is my house (or my server) you WILL ask before "helping" me.
There is a nasty little fad anymore that many people seem to think that the ends justify the means.
This would only be a parody of the dialog. It would be an unauthorized use of the visual content. Parody tends to be a complete recreation that uses the original story or theme, but not the actual performances.
The only similar examples I can think of are Woody Allens "What's Up Tiger Lilly", which was authorized and Mystery Science Theater, which used such bad movies that I would assume that the creators of those movies were just pleased to have their movies played at all. Even if mutilated.
The whole "free, as in beer" thing never made sense to me because as long as I can recall free beer is not legal. So free beer is just something that doesn't exist to me. Fine with me though since beer is just chilled piss anyway.:) I'd guess talking about "free, as in whiskey" would just be bizarre. Makes me picture a handfull of distros grouped into the "sour mash" catagory. hehe.

Good choice but,
Jaco... not really, but the stories about him are a lot of fun.
Les - real interesting stuff. he plays sloppy, but it seems intentional. I like anyone with the balls to go on stage wearing combat boots, long underwear and a civil war infantry hat. hehe
Stu - after listening to all his stuff it really sounds the same. it's a creativity issue. The chordal playing is really cool though, especially Flow My Tears.
and Myung - I love Dream Theaters stuff but he always felt like the weakest link to me and his tone makes me wanna barf.
I guess we forgot to mention Bill Sheehan or Jeff Berlin......

dunno... how can you differentiate linsux distros?
same point. you just know better if you are actually in the know.
All the places I've worked had them and an unauthorized replacement your OS or what was most probably pirate software (VMWare) would easily be seen as grounds for termination....or did I always work for pricks?:)
I've used OS/2 for years and still currently do on some of my machines. JFS was introduced to OS/2 Warp Server for eBusiness (Aurora) when it was ported frome AIX. They also ported AIX's TCPIP stack over to OS/2 at that release.
OS/2 just had JFS before Linux did.:)
I do remember these as news releases from IBM that they were ports.
Apparently you, since you did make it a point to read the responses to the posting and post one yourself.
I am using OS/2 right now, the only thing I reboot to windows for is gaming. I am using the version of OS/2 that was released in 2002. As "obsolete" as you think it is, it is still a far better desktop OS than Linux. Linux is not ready to "take over the world" at all in that aspect.
OS/2 is still a fun OS to dink around with. If the linux open source community comes up with any nice software it's only a short time before the OS/2 guys port it over. We have almost everything that Linux has due to the simplicity of porting linux-->OS/2.
who'd 'a thunk?
Serenity Systems has an OEM license with IBM to release their own customized version of OS/2 which is called eComStation.
From what I've seen, AMD processors are fairly reliable too.

Let's say that I become aware that my neighbors front door lock is broken, so without their knowledge I enter their house and fix it.
When the police show up am I a good samaritan or a burglar?
I don't think anyone has the right to do things like this without permission.
Has the Patriot Act numbed us all to violation of privacy?

GOD! Blogs are fucking gay!
I have about as much interest in reading them as someones diary.
Then again.... if the diary talked a lot about porkin' then it might be okay.
more "who cares" mods.
gee, let's blow time and money on something that makes no difference whatsoever.

reboot it and *poof*
Good thing it's a fictional character.
Like it would matter.....
Remember when we'd beat the crap out of D&D and LotR
"fans" in elementary school during the 70's?
If you don't remeber then you musta been the target of a beatin'.
no, i hate those skeleton things.
but hey, if you wanna spank over "unevenly fit girl", go ahead.
that "deep" gal has a gross gut.
toss her some sit ups and she might be adequate.
you guys need some standards.
hahaha, once again linux users proud of a feature even os/2 had before them.
You sir, are a cruel bastard. hahahah

hahaha, exactly. ... and you are not alowed to ever move a king into a position of being in check or check mate.
Basic chess rule there.
If you had peer networking and lan support is was Warp 3 Connect. If you didn't then it was Warp 3.0 (Which was released in '93 if I remember right).
