It still is just about as funny as an article about how to DOS someone being shown here...

They include stuff that just about nobody will use, and leave out bluetooth. I think that a great selling point of Bluetooth would be local wireless multiplayer games. Then you would convince people to get this phone so that you can play games.
yeah, and there is also putting a space every three numbers, like 7 000 000 000. that causes a problem when I have a computer with 2 X 900 mhx processors, for example.
You are right, they should stick to some standard,
if you already have a NIC and HD for the PS2, then most of the kid is useless to you, and Disc 2 is GPL, so you can make a copy of that. Disc 1 is the special disc, and you might be able to call sony and have them send you a Disc 1.
Disc 1 is NON-GPL, and had only a loader on it, with some sony documentation.
Disc 2 is GPL, and contains linux

If you already have a hard drive hooked up to a PS2, the only thing that you lack is the Linux disc, which is special since it has a Linux boot loader, and a PS2 boot loader togeather. That is a special disc, and is only sold with the kit. If you have a modded PS2, you might be able to use a copy of both discs (first is copyright Sony, and the second is GNU).

Note that it would be COMPLETELY legal for 2 14 year olds to have sex. However, I do think that if another 14 year old was to photograph this, then that would be child porn, even though the act itself is completely legal. This is incredible to me, that an act can be legal, and a recording of that act, with the conscent of all to be featured in that recording is illegal!
Also, these laws do not take into acount the age of the person who posses the child pornography. What if a person who is 17 has pictures of other 17 year olds having sex with other 17 year olds? It would be legal for all of those people to have sex, but it is a FELONY for some of the latter to make a picture, and give it to the first person? That is really incredible.
Especially like at the end, between Nero and Trinity, it would be funny if Trinity would say, "Would you get your hands OUT of me!" Or, like the scene where the machivelian gave that girl some cake, Nero could just directly affect Trinity in a similar way.

Actually, it is even more simple than that: if the endpoints of the tunnel are the same distance from the center of the earth, then it is POSSIBLE to complete the path, expending no net energy. The path could even go far above ground, just so long as you then reasorb thhat energy on the way back down.
Yes, there is a shape of track such that a car released on that track at any point will take the same time to reach the bottom, and it is pretty close to a circular track, but I don't rember what it is called.
If you were to have an evacuated tunnel*, you could could put a maglev train in that tunnel, and then give it any push, and assuming a completely horizontal track, it would arrive at the destination with the same speed, with no energy expended. Your Idea of parabolic is pretty cute, but you would just need a little ramp at the beginning to convert a little gravitational potential into kinetic energy, and then a corresponding ramp at the end. There is nothing special to a parabolic tunnel, with the vertex in the earth, and the parabola opening up.
* Evacuated means no air, not that there was a recent fire drill.
And then there is the issue of running something designed for a MIPS processor on an x86. You are paring 30 general purpose registers down to 4 specialized registers.
That is why I think that the PS2 will not be emulated for a while, you have to get by with 1/30 the register space. The registers on the PS2 are 128 bits wide, and there are 30 of them.

Finnaly we have a use for all of these floppy drives. When I built my current computer, I did not put in a floppy drive, even though my case has a special slot for one.
Put a modchip that allows me to run PalmOS on the thing so I can use it as a really big PDA at the office.
Oh, wow. that would be quite the PDA. You could cut a hole in the side of the XBOX and it would be the office. It would be pretty cool to see.

I have personally talked to a devloper, Roger Wolfson, for Microsoft that is working on the port of Halo to the PC. He said that even though the XBox and PC are very similar, it is still a big pain, since they have convert some ASSEMBLY for the VIDEO CARD into directx stuff, and make it more generic. There is also the problem that some of the stuff the XBox does in the video card is impossible/proprietary in the current video cards for the PC.
