not the people who would buy this. They will use the computer as it comes, and will not even consider changing the OS in fear of "breaking" it. And, they would never notice if slashdot.org was mapped to 127.0.0.1
Unfortunatly, C# is tied to the platform. The mono project is trying, but most of your.NET class library is not going to be ported by Microsoft to linux, so I don't think that.NET will help you much.
Now, I FAR prefer C# the language to Java the language, but C# is tied to a platform.
Why don't we do this with executives at spam companies and Microsoft employees? Just have the header of every page include a random "Evil" person's email address?
I have this calculator already (yeah, I preordered it), and it is definitly not limited: USB, IR, SD slot, Constants Library, and somewhere there is supposed to be an equation library. It comes with a usb cable, but on the calculator it uses the standard mini-usb port. I really think that using standard components like that is a very good idea.
The menus are incredibly responsive, and the math is pretty fast. I really do think that this calculator is better than the TI-89, and for some things it is faster. It does take about a minute to computer 1500!, but it eventually gets an answer. It also can do multiple 3D graphs at a time, so you can graph an entire sphere. Doing side by side comparisons with the 89 shows that this calculator is faster at drawing menus, graphing, and pretty much everything.
I can definitly recomend this calculator to anyone considering a TI-89.

You are correct about the battery voltage affecting the speed, because the clock for the processor is a capacitor. When the capacitor reaches full charge, it shorts, ticking the clock. if the voltage is lower, then it runs slower, as it takes longer to fill the capacitor.

Um, you will have to exclude the PS2 from your other uni-porcessor consoles up there. You are mostly talking about the XBOX, but it is not the most popular console.
The PS3 will have even more processors than the PS2, so a game for the XBOX will be very different from a game for PS3. (MIPS 64 bit * 2 or 3 processors versus x86 32 bit * 1 processor)
One time on a laptop, I hot swapped an IDE CD-ROM drive. that was funny. The screen went to color static. As far as running out of space, that is what "watch df" is for...
by my calculations, using a Blue lasered DVD, with about 14 gigs per disc, that MiniVan would get 5 gigs a second! Yet another 28.8K er, but this modem is shared on my network, YUM!
Yeah, like compaq integrated computers. They are terrible, and almost impossible to upgrade. Want a bigger monitor than the 13" that came with it? Not possible. What if you want 2 monitors? If you just want to buy a single thing, then you ARE going to get an Apple.
Dell sells very nice servers without an OS. What you can also do, I think, is to call them up, and order a computer without a hard drive. Since there is nowhere to put the OS, they have to sell it without Windows.
One word for you, and this is from a user on a *shared* 28.8 modem, "Flash"
Compression might have gotten better, but the size of websites is incredible!!!
Stupid web designers can overcome any technological gains, and easily. I have seen a website that used JAVA for OnMouseOver(), not JavaScript. Annoying bitch. Another great (bad) example is http://www.swatch.com/internettime Flash used with no way to navigate outside that flash.
It seems to me that this would be easier with a TV and a camera. Eiter point it out, so it sort of looks like a mirror, or have it blend in with the wall. I think that a mirror would affect the image quality, as opposed to just displaying a specific image on a standard TV.
Yeah, or if you kept that computer, you could give it to your kid and know that it would work.
I have a TRS-80 Model 100 that I learned on, and I fully intend on giving that to my kids, and I am only 19.
My other vote would be on QBasic. I rember making programs that dumped the joystick input onto the screen, then moving the joystick and watching the numbers change

Yes, and when people sue you for shouting fire in a movie theater, you counter sue with a DMCA violation.

Yes, and if they don't answer VI, how can I trust them to run the government?
How about a character not found in ASCII, just for fun?
Maybe a Chinese character or something like that?
Funny thing, though:
That warning does not show when browsing in Lynx.
Well, I have a Cyrix 233, I guess that doesn't count. Needs Internet Exporer, you say? Hmmm,
#emerge internetexplorer
Calculating dependencies
emerge: there are no masked or unmasked ebuilds to satisfy "internetexporer".
!!! Error calculating dependencies. Please correct.

well, I guess that it doesn't exist, then
Just wait until a remote exploit is discovered that goes through the power. Then simply removing the ethernet cable would not even be enough.
Really, there is a major virus infecting computer around the world, and it is called "Windows".

No, it is SUV full of DVDs.
Did you patent that idea?
A question like that would be very useful, and use it on the tech support people as well.

B) Zoom in?
DEFINITLY B, with some image enhancements, possibly simulating the skin.
Well, considering that IBM has (more) money, and that their busines plann isn't:
1. Sue
2. ???
3. Profit?
I think that we all will agree that IBM just about has to win this case.

Just my 0b10 cents
Hell, I would make a perfect copy of my car as a backup. "Need oil or gas?"... "Time to get out the backup"
Then, if my car was wrecked, I would just pull out the backup, also.

hmm, in Linux, no less.
