You seem to have a misguided belief that VB Programmers != Real Programmers.

I would say there is a large number (70-80%) of VB programmers that suck and couldn't compile an app with Strict turned on if their life depended on it.

But the remaining 20-30% are damn good programmers who produce good stuff, they just produce that code in VB. They could probably move to C++ or something else without to much trouble but there are way more jobs for VB programmers than C++.

Pressure differential is much much smaller than going down 30 metres underwater. It is only 1 atmosphere difference between sea level and the vacuum of space. But for every 10 metrs of depth you dive, you are increasing the pressure by 1 atmosphere. Therefore at 30 metres (~100 feet) you are experiencing 4 atmospheres of pressure.

Come up quickly from 30 metres and you are asking for trouble, but coming up quickly from 10 metres and there is little chance of the bends.

I think Tycho missed the point of the classification personally. There is more to the difference than just the length of the violence, it is the graphic nature of the sexual content as well and a few other reasons I think. Like if you see a murder on Law & Order, you never see the bullet strike, not much blood, no close-ups of the wound. If they were to show all the close-ups and maybe a slow motion of the bullet entering the skull, there is no way in hell it would be allowed to broadcast. Maybe GTA:SA was just on the edge of going to AO before this patch was released. The patch sent it tumbling over the edge. But that said, GTA:SA should have probably had an AO for the violence content alone. I really don't know why western society in general and the US in particular is so uptight about sex, yet they let their kids watch many murders a week.

You said: Oh, BTW, TCP/IP is mandatory for internet, the Web, on the other hand, is all about HTTP content that's supposed to work the same in every user agent avaible, hence needs interoperability.

Where did I say that TCP/IP is not mandatory? I was referring to the AJAX framework not being mandatory and correcting the analogy of the GP.

Because the HTTP standard is basically set in stone, I agree that MS shouldn't fiddle with them. But in this case, the AJAX framework came from MS's own work and is not even a standard. The other browsers came up with their own implementations, MS is their own business and can do what they like with their own products.

Give me a good reason why MS should care if other browsers can or can't support the AJAX framework which isn't even a declared standard?

If MS keep co-opting standards and changing them to suit their own business ideas, sooner or later the world is gonna get pissed off with them and stop using MS. That said, I don't see it happening any time soon because there are no real commercially viable competitors in most of their product lines.

    BP Ultimate fuel questions
    Q. Why five tankfuls to clean up a dirty engine?
    A. With increased detergency, Amoco Ultimate from BP will clean up engines with deposits in about 1,500 miles of use at an average of 300 miles per tank. Those five tankfuls will restore the engine to its previous level of performance, and with continuous use, Amoco Ultimate will keep that engine running cleanly.

    Q. Why don't you apply the increased detergent additive in all three grades?
    A. We offer customers a choice. Many customers have told us they want the enhanced performance that is possible in a premium gasoline.

    Castrol Motor Oil basics
    Additives

Base oil alone is not enough to properly protect your engine. Motor oil needs to perform a wide variety of functions under a wide range of engine operating conditions. Therefore several additives are incorporated into the formulation:

Detergent/dispersant additives - used to maintain engine cleanliness, keeping the various contaminants in a fine suspension and preventing them from settling out on vital engine components.
