fud fud fud, I reckon that being a *AA employee is more morally corrupting than downloading some songs. Shoplifting is completely different, it cannot be done out of the safety of your home.
Cob is hardly a secret, there are just a lot of ppl who pretend it is so they can make money off it. It's really too bad that cob and concepts like aerthships get such bad names becuase of a few asses who try to sell green 'wonders' while it's really very basic stuff.
Why do I feel like these "consultants" will favour Windows anyway, and bring examples like how Linux infringes on a ton of stuff and throw in some SCO as well.
I wouldn't define interactive art as a videogame. A videogame is primarily for entertainment and an art piece is not (a different kind of entertainment at least).
So it's either a game or interactive art, not both... If it's an artsy game it's still a game
Because everybody knows it! No sensible businessmanager is going to _not_ use the Final Fantasy trademark. Just for the fact that it is called Final Fantasy it will sell well. Even though it is basically a new game.
I suppose it depends on what MMORPG you are playing.
Ragnarok Online for instance has a much larger female population becuase it's an MMORPG with a lot of cute characters and you can collect hats, glasses and whatnot. Then it's a mostly social game. The actual/fighting becomes kinda secondary and only the way to gain levels to collect the rare hats.
Ragnarok Online (from korea) seems to have a much more female-friendly gameplay. check out www.ragnarokonline.com to see the cuteness yourself.
Would you pay 10 bucks a month to play MMOGTA? Would it be fun enough to spend significant time playing it?
The reason why there so many MMORPGs is the fact that RPG players are used to long sittings with a game whilst the more casual player finds RPGs to be too long and tiring. MMORPGs are about almost infinite length and there is a lot of endurance nessecary to reach the higher levels of the game which casual gamers usually do not have.
Also MMORPGs are social games as well, I imagine that wouldn't work well in a game where it's your objective to beat the shit out the other...
No we don't, European party's are not elected. I do not even know who is representing me, there is so little information about the European Parlement directly available to the public, it is really shameful. All we know that Berlusconi is a dickhead who picks on Germans.
It seems that the struggle to avoid Europe becoming like America isn't really working. There are a lot of things happening over here in Europe which we call "American circumstances". Things such like frivolous lawsuits, higher gun-related murders/accidents, apathy and now software patents.
I believe poeple don't want to live in an "American Europe".
the 45.xx detonator drivers were used for the Nvidia cards because that is the final working driver Nvidia released. The 50.xx which NVidia says should have been used doesn't show fog, which they call a bug and just so happens to create better results. Also the 50.xx drivers were still beta last time I heard. So Valve chose a stable driver over a "bugged" one. Not to mention NVidia's earlier actions surrounding "driver enhancements" wouldn't make them suspicious.
This is the saddest stuff I've seen so far, to actually have to do this in order to try and win. I thought courts were about justice, deciding guilt and innocence and not a theater in which you try gaining the favour of some strangers.
who takes it seriously? We only read it for the entertainment value because we all know that their allegations would only hurt themselves. And they have proved that time and time again
this man just declared all games not being fun. Perhaps he should try Bullshit Tycoon?
Gaming isn't geeky anymore, it hasn't been for a long time. My parents played mario and Donkey Kong on the SNES and my father has become a Battlefield addict. And they are certainly not geeky.
If you look at Counter-Strike, do you really think that the players going "sTFU n00b" are considered geeks?
the game industry is fairly young, most of us grew up with games and will continue to play them for the rest of our lives. The poeple who didn't grow up in the gaming age will simply have less interrest. And besides, not everybody is a gamer.
I remember that they said GTA had nothing to do with it. But then their lawyer probly fixed that, plea for insanity, blame the game.
The game is not to blame, these @#holes are and their parents for not looking after them. The answer is so simple, why doesn't anyone with power see it?
As a fan of the original FFT i've been looking forward to this one. Although the more serious medieval setting has been traded in for kids in a suburb (as far as i've seen) it should be interresting to see what they'll do with it. Although it doesn't really help Nintendo with getting rid of their "kiddy" image.
Mind if I ask who actually pays attention to advertising? Marketeers want to sell stuff, regardless. If a certain buzzword increases sales, its in there whether it holds true or not. I used to do some marketing work, being the honest people-loving guy that I am I soon quit after leaving rather offensive words regarding their almost criminal practices.

The golden rule of developing MMOG's. You _will_ have startup problems.
The only way to counter it is to be prepared by not sending off the entire project team to a new project, the game ain't finished until it works properly.
...that the space elevator was the new way to go? Except for the massive production of the required carbon tethers it all seems feasible and why not give it a try? If it works out the race will be won.
Why would a phone make decisions for me? I wouldn't mind if it were to point out a certain hot event based on my likings. But I want to be in charge, not some piece of hardware that I _use_
...the way they think is diffirent from here (EU/US) and it is quite obvious that GTA3 will do badly there for pointless violence (as mentioned before) is not really their thing. Metal Gear Solid 2 got a lot of bad response in Japan because it was too American which, in all aspects, it is.
Fun/Happy games do better in Japan as the action-based games are a smaller market but are the topsellers in the EU/US.

True perhaps, but you think the average Joe in Europe does Google for it?

I found the first one quite amusing, too bad I never got around to playing part 3 though.
But what is so important about this? It's not like they're delaying Duke Nukem Forever...uhm...
