While learning from references might seem hard at first, I find that references are better because you remember your mistakes and accomplishes and learn faster than following HelloWorld1, HelloWorld2, etc. that an author presents in a book. I guarantee you that you will learn better and faster writing your own code from references than memorizing examples found in books. I tried books and found that they are a waste a money.
Doesn't Slashdot have editors that are supposed to analyze and edit user postings. "Dropping" and "disabling" mean two different actions. I got confused for a second or two. Lately, Slashdot quality has been going down the tubes.
The other 3% will be on BitTorrent, and the result of this is $0 to the alleged loss of revenue. 97% of the people who use the software blocked will use the other 3%. Also, everything that Macrovision did so far has been broken. This will just add a few cents to the DVD price.
"Apparently the aim is to improve security of all government networks."
That does not make sense; is not the job of the NSA to brake security of any network in order to easedrop on the conversations? It is a spy agency, not a security agency.
I thought that Kevin Mitnick wrote a book and created a company that is supposed to prevent this type of actions. One the following things seems to be wrong:
His words are a bunch of bollocks.
His company is a failure.
Companies don't know about him.
Companies don't want to enter in a contract with a convict.
Companies don't give a damn.
I hope to read his book when I have free time. If you/. readers know something, fell free to replay to my comment. But if his words are good, then the idiots that let this happen should be fired for dereliction of duty.
I have 3, and these egotistical bastards only give you attention when they want, not when you want. One of them is extremely friendly when the bowl is empty. Other than that, he sleeps all day.
From the support perspective, it makes sense. A person using CentOS might call Red Hat for support if they see Red Hat CentOS. A lot of people will say that Mandrake started as a fork of Red Hat, but you do not see Red Hat on the Mandrake page.
We all hate what the Chinese government are doing to their population, but all you admins out there, think about it. Their censorship technology is the best in the world, and it would improve production if it was implemented in USA companies. How would it improve production you ask? It will, for example, keep people from reading Slashdot all day.
Speaking of him, didn't the Italians bitch that one of their citizens invented the telephone first, but didn't have money for a patent, while Bell had?
I found Google Cache Link that says that Congress gave Antonio Meucci credit for inventing the telephone.
It's the same thing people. Whether security is circumvented in cyberspace or in the real world, it is the same thing. In this case, though, they failed to secure sensitive information in the real world.
Someone is going to lose his or her job. We all know that operating systems and applications have bugs. However, most of the break ins are because of unpatched or misconfigured systems, which are administrator faults. 99.99999999999999% of bad guys are too lazy to find holes themselves like Kevin Mitnick did when he broke into Sun to get Solaris and find security bugs. So, they use what is known. Admins must use what it is known to fix those problems.
Do you know when it will be music hell? It will be hell when you can only listen to music on a device like the iPod, where you pay a monthly fee, and you stream that music via a satellite. The service will only be by subscription only. There will be no CDs, no formats that you want, and no choice. The only way to get around this is to circumvent the hardware on that device and record the streamed music in whatever format you want. What if they make chips and memory cells that are sensitive to air? You'll have to open that device in a vacuum to record the music. How many of us have a airless room in hour house?
Stupid business indeed. However, the reason why they do get away with it is that consumers don't bitch at the Better Business Bureau or to their representatives. Charter Communications is known for this. Sometimes they do take it away from your bill if you are loud enough. Most times they don't, and the tech support will tell you that they do it because they can. They don't even hide. As for phones, mobile phones are more convenient. How much time do students stay in dorms besides sleeping and fucking?
They'll probably add cell phone components too. So Nintendo wants to turn the Game Boy line into N-Gage. The problem is that N-Gage is not successful, so what makes them think that Game Boy with PDA and maybe phoning will be successful? I don't think that a 12 years old kid needs a PDA in his Game Boy, nor do I think that he should have a mobile phone. What are your opinions on this?
It is the other way around. Google should use standards, so it will display good in all browsers. HttpXmlRequest is not standard. XSL/XSLT and XML should be used on the server side. Browsers should only have to deal with XHTML, CSS, and ECMAScript. Not only that the new Google producs are not standard compliant, they are also not accessible under 508.
I think that William Henry Gates III should run for president because he surely talks like a politician. He talks the talk, but he does not walk the walk!
XBMC (Xbox Media Centre) already does this. Tom's Hardware reviewed it a while ago. The CVS version has a lot more functionality now. I use it. Whatever Intel will come up with, I guarantee you that it will be in the hundreds of dollars. XBMC is here now, and the XBOX is cheap. Also, if it does not have the functionality that you want, you can contribute. If the XBOX does not have the hardware that you want, you can add it.

Step one to creating a cheap web site is to to not buy useless web books. All you need to know is on the web. Start with A List Apart.
- speeding fines.
- privacy issues.
Feel free to add more. I can't think of anything else right now.Doesn't Slashdot have editors that are supposed to analyze and edit user postings. "Dropping" and "disabling" mean two different actions. I got confused for a second or two. Lately, Slashdot quality has been going down the tubes.

Excuse me, but 2 shops isn't enough. I want to able to buy from any shop I want.
I have 3, and these egotistical bastards only give you attention when they want, not when you want. One of them is extremely friendly when the bowl is empty. Other than that, he sleeps all day.
Don't buy it! No iTunes! Let me choose from what shop I want to buy. This is monopolization, and I shall not support it!

I guess this is the first step to the Matrix. I guess Jessus will become Neo.
