The movie kinda reminds me of all of the mindless starwar drones that have seen episode 1 & 2 5000 times even though they'll redily admit that they suck.
Well, you know, it was a really big lime. Much bigger than those keylimes they had. And I was only making like 10 margiretias. I put the limes behind the rear tires so they wouldn't roll away. Except I put everythign else away and forgot about them being there until I go home. Limes are supposed to be smashed to make mixed drinks right? So like if they were run over they were ready for the blender. The gravel would aid in the mixing down process like in the stomaches of birds that purposely swallow pebbles. Then the gravel would sink to the bottom and wouldn't actually end up in the drinks. I didn't need to worry about the germs, because alcohol is such a great antiseptic. I thought the blender was rechargable. Like on the package it didn't show the plug, so I thought it was battery operated. I think the trials of my labor simply made it a better margerita experince for my guests. I told them the story after they were about half way threw it. They were laughing for most of it. Then they had a funny look on their face. I'm not sure why. In any case they said that I wouldn't have to make them drinks next time. Less work for me.
But I prefer shopping at well known internet sites than compusa. The guy behind the counter earning min wage doesn't give a rats ass about your problem. It doesn't do any good to kill him for the corperate policy, and unless you have access to pig farm body disposal is a major headache.
c# and.net are ecma standards. There may be some question as to the use of cerrian librarys ( winforms, ect), but they have never purchansed any kind of license from microsoft. Nice Fud, though.
That may be true of Bush, but the system works. He got slapped down by the supreme court (thank God). They are not unlimited even in times of war. Compare what he's doing with rosevelt's handleing of WW2! There has been less censership, racism, and dictatorship behavior under Bush! Shhh. Don't tell the Bush haters, they'll kill you if they know you know!
How/Why is this a slashdot article? As anyone knows drugs are cool and nerds are not. In fact taking drugs will make you cooler and less nerdy. So why is this posted on a site dedicated to news for nerds? Ok, maybe its not news for nerds anymore. Maybe we should have articles on DMB and Guichi's new fashion line! yeah! Maybe we should all do a little less thinking for ourselves and trust what other cool people tell us. Heck if fonzi told you to jump off a bridge you'd do it, right?
We don't have a "parliament". We do have a congress whom he asked for consent. We also have a judiciary that just smacked the crap out of his lawiers for the detention without trial of American citizens as well as other individuals. The US is much more of a Republic than a Democrocy. Usually, the Congress is lead by an entirely different party than the presidency, but thats not the case right now. I prefer the system because it allows me to differntiate my representation in Congress from my selection of President. I can vote for a Democratic Congress and a Republican President! I suppose there are advantages and disadvantages to both systems. While our system may produce some strange results over s short period of time, there are some benifits to the way in which it was constructed. If I had my way, we would have a philosopher king!
They have a record label. If they want to only supply tracks to their own store, they can and apple will be shut out. AOL TIME WARNER has done the same thing putting videos online exclusively for aol members. They also tried this for a while with minidiscs. Some albums came out for minidisc well before cd or cassette ( at least in Japan).
That is assuming that it will take you longer to figure it out than the cost of the time to find a book that has what you want and read it ( in addtion to the cost of the book). Manuals are good for things that aren't obvious like programming languages, api's, assembly instructions for a boeing 777, quantam mechanics for alchemists, and why doesn't love me after finding me in bed with your mom.
Its not asthetically pleaseing. Its freaken' ugly! I'll be the first to say it. THE EMPORER HAS NO CLOTHES! While I'm at it, I freakin hate aqua too! Not only are newer desktops requiring more and more cpu cycles, they are becoming uglier and decreasing productivity! To me the hallmark of gui design was be. But I suppose if they were still around in their original constitition, they would be just as amped about a 3d desktop or eye candy. damn hippies! If Sun wants their linux distro in corprerations in mass quanitty they had better rethink looking glass. Corperations just aren't that stupid.
I suppose most of the "missing manuals" are worthless, except maybe winxp considering the lack of a useful manual. But if you have to read a book to figure out a system or device that is supposedly the easiest to figure out... then you aren't the steriotypical slashdot reader. I guess it would be hypocritical, if Apple was the publisher of the missing manuals. But they aren't. The more functional a device is the more difficult it is going to be to learn how to use all of its functions( hey did i just make that up? I haven't heard that before, maybe i need to get out more. Or just maybe i have discovered newton's law of functionality! ALL HAIL my obvious statement put into law form!!).
I remmember getting that email early fall 97 I believe it was before november. Maybe my memmory is wrong. In any case, I must have recieved it very soon after it was created. A lot of people were new to email and the internet and didn't know what was possible. I recieved something like 7 free cd's that year from various web coupons and promotions as companies like cdnow and cd universe and amazon were giving all kinds of crazy discounts just to attract visitors. So its not that much farther of a logical leep to be paid for forwarding email.
Yes Virginia, there is perl for dos. Its not easy to compile, and some modules just aren't worth it. But it can be done. And let me tell you, its worth it. You can bash perl all you like, but compared with the other options in dos, its beautiful.
If you don't know the conversions within a measuring system, you will be unable to use it. The point was that people were having problems converting BETWEEN metric and brittish standard( I love how we blame the brittish, but they don't even use it anymore). 2.54 cm/inch is very good for that.
Spammers are like a retrovirus. The will adapt to any system you construct. Creating a list of what every major isp will do to combat them will only serve to accelerate their evolution and make them more effective spammers.
Seriously, has sony had anything like these problems with any of it s products? My Vaio is six years old now and running perfectly. Granted the people I know do not represent a large enoguh sample size to be statistically significant, but the only serious problems they've had are with the ibooks. Maybe it was jsut a generational one time problem, but its lead us to not recommend ibooks to our non techie friends. So far apple has lost 4 potential sales ( from our group of friends) because of it. Although, fixing things out of warrenty is very nice of them. Now their desktops seem to be of very high quality along with their powerbooks. Those, I would reccomned. Seriously, the os differnece doesn't matter that much to many people.
Its anti-flamebait. There are far too many people on/. that think that way. I call them "Stupid".
PS. Now this post, on the other hand, will also probley be modded down. Thats a good thing. I think That getting modded down every now and then is a good thing. If everyone agrees with what you are saying, then you must not be saying anything important.
PS PS I think its clear to me that slashdot's moderation system is a failure. The signal to noise ratio is far too low. The insightful comments aren't, the average poster has the maturity level of a 13 year old, ect, gripe, ect. I don't know how much longer I'll be here.
IBM's website states that it is powered with some servers running linux and other running AIX.
The combination of Linux and AIX provides managers with the flexibility, reliability and scalability required to meet the challenge of hosting and maintaining the busy site.
But a Story titled "Linux and AIX Score an ACE at Wibledon" Just doesn't have the same ring to it.
Believe me I'm on your side, but what does all of that add up to? Why should mom and pop use all of those things, none of which they understand? The average consumer has no concept of what security is or why they should care. For all of these worthwile and useful incremental improvements, There really isn't a killer feature built into it that makes it immediately obviously better than ie. It needs to think bigger than that, if its really going to stand out from IE.
"Breasts are proof God doesn't want babies to starve, and that all men suffer from an oedipus complex."
I think he is speaking german.
God Bless America, where "freedom of speech" means race-hate groups like KKK
As you know, groups such as the nazis are outlawed in germany.
The movie kinda reminds me of all of the mindless starwar drones that have seen episode 1 & 2 5000 times even though they'll redily admit that they suck.
In the midwest local computer stores died along time ago. Its pretty much bigbox (compusa, bestbuy, circuit city) or internet.

I would hate to use excel or anyother spreadsheet when my data size was approaching 64k! Too hard to manage the data. USE A FRIKIN DATABASE ALREADY!
I have a batch script that runs killall and starts playing the metallica album.

So it s not just my computer. Interesting. I would have thought some one would have looked into that. I guess were just lucky it works at all.
