Depends upon where you are being stationary. On the couch watching Game of Thrones? Not too dangerous. Middle of a busy freeway in the fog? Slightly more so!

The kid isn't going to pay attention to the movie and won't like being cooped up and sitting still for 2 hours, the parent isn't going to enjoy the movie while dealing with aforementioned squawking child, and everyone else that has to listen to the squawking are going to be pissed off.

Why on earth isn't minimum wage tied to CPI (inflation) like it is in most other countries? Set it to some agreed amount, then index it each year based on official inflation figures. The way it is now, the minimum wage even AFTER being increased to $15 still won't be as high as it was in the 1960s, in terms of actual buying power.

This whole "setting it to a fixed, static amount" is a weird, high-maintenance way to legislate. It just means you have to go through the same process another decade down the track.

Yes, 2009 - and? Did the Democrats control the House and Senate for the first two years of his first term? Did the Democrats not control the Senate for 6 of his 8 years in office? That's quite different than the original contention of "his entire term" - that was bunk.

Whether or not the Democrats controlled the House or Senate is completely irrelevant regarding Republican obstructionism. The GOP was simply less successful at obstructing when the Democrats had either house. Doesn't change the fact that they did so.

The only thing worse than having unions is not having them.

The only thing worse would be never having had them. But now they're holding back progress because they are a specially protected class and their wages tend to be whole-number multiples of the minimum wage. Yes, that promotes campaigning for the minimum wage, but it also prevents campaigning for it to be a living wage, because they're not going to get their wages raised that high, thus they're not going to get the minimum wage raised that high. In education in particular it has led to executive salaries which rob money needed for education, and I personally have witnessed both educators (though only a couple) and support personnel (more of those) who desperately needed to be replaced for the good of the institution but who could not be removed because of their union status.

Unions were a wholly necessary step in securing rights for workers, but now they are interested primarily in padding their own pockets and the rest of us can go fuck ourselves. Their answer is "why haven't you unionized yet" but not only is that not realistic for many disciplines but creating more bureaucracy only creates more waste and corruption. We shouldn't need more unions, we need rights for all workers. It's time to move beyond them, not backwards, but forwards.

As it is with management, it is not that unions are bad, it is when you get some asshole in charge that is only interested in their own gain rather than the welfare of the workers.

Get rid of the sociopathic assholes in charge (both corporations AND unions) and you will see a much better workplace.

Or a luggage rack? Because it's cool to have a 7 passenger SUV, but where do you put the luggage?

When we go camping as a family, we're 6. The only space left for luggage is the tiny space left in the trunk and the big luggage box on the roof.

Generally you would remove said snow from the top before trying to open them. I can't say how the X would deal with ice. I know if I were to own one (fat chance of that) I would have it parked in a heated garage (if I could afford the Model X I could afford the garage).

If you go to the first link they have a video of the launch event, where they show off the cargo capability. No top rack obviously, but you have a good amount of storage in the front, back, and underseats. They also show the X towing an Airstream camper (5000 lb tow capacity).
