you have got to be fucking kidding me, how is ther lawfirm working with them letting them file these suits knowing there is no way in hell they could possibly win!!!!!
(was yelling but/. wont let me, I thin there should be a CAPS ok if yelling about a sco article button over there)
But can you sue for stupidity??? I mean really ya know how much money we could make off those quacks by just using their website against them by showing the scientific facts behind their lies!!!!!!
besides as everyone has pointed out
a) they are nothing new, zebrafish have been turned into "Glo-fish" for years by scientists
b) ITS NOT FUCKING FOOD SO THE FDA, YOU KNOW THE FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION CANT DO SHIT!!!
A) no mention that a lot of the reason why people hate shooting film, because Kodak overcharges by at least 20% everything it sells, from film, to photography solutions (fix, developer etc.) Unless you know to look for the smaller, but MUCH better quality to price ratio europian and japanese players you end up spending thousands in photography equipment.
B) no mention that Kodak was NEVER a major player in the Pro and semi pro camera market like Nikon, Minolta, and Cannon. They where a big player in the amature market but they havent made a good AND cheap point and click in years, at least in comparison to how good their brownie was.
Honestly it doesnt bother me in that Kodak is getting out of the film camera buisness. where it DOES bother me is that people not in the know about the photography world might take this as a sign that EVERYONE should get out of the film camera buisness which is bullshit.
It isnt acceptable because if the LCD isnt broken, then why should he pay to get a whole new one. Its VERY easy to pop a LCD out of a bezel and put on a new bezel, I have done it many times myself. What they are doing is just pulling it out and sending it back for remanufacture, and NOT fixing the part that is broken.
I understand completely where he is comming from, minor parts are next to imposable to find for a lot of the manufacturers and it IS very annoying.
btw, AAC has been shown in a few sound magazines, as well as on Slashdot linked articles as being the superior one.... sooooooo how much money did Billy Boy give you to say it was superior?
oh bull you can set those suckers up correctly and not have them light:-P, I have had easily 4 or 5 in a pack misfire. The new ones with the plug and not having to use wadding to hold it seem to be better made though.
I for one am betting all money on either
a) knive cuts cable that somehow found it's way into the area.
b)knives cut last remaining microbe that somehow found its way up onto the platform.... oooops.
same here I download SO much on comcast and never heard from them. yet people always think they are evil. Heck for a short period of time my girlfriend website was being hosted of a server whos connection was comcast, and she uses hidious ammounts of bandwidth and they never had a problem with it
"PC" = IBM clone, IBM invented it, if you took a current system apart, overal its almost exatly the same as a PC jr. still with some minor changes, upgrades in mem and speed, motherboard layout etc. hence any "PC" out there is a IBM clone like it or not. Just cause IBM doesnt really make desktop PC's anymore doesnt mean you can take their contrabution away from them.
"Home Computer" a computer for home use. Since IMB clones came to steal the PC term to use for themselves (when really ANY personal computer is a PC; Apple, IBM clone, Commadore, etc. in fact look at old 1980's ads and you will see any home computer is termed a PC including Apple's and Macintosh's) Something had to be created to seperate a home computer from high end servers and supercomputers.
I would NEVER call a PC a supercomputer, nor a Apple, nor any other made for home use computers. There is a definate threshhold between a home computer and a supercomputer, so the term is NOT ancient like your beleive and is VERY valid today. Granted the V tech supercomputer is made up OF home computers, the way its clustered together and the speed at which iit prosseses larg ammounts of data make it a supercomputer
First off Cray wasnt the only suppercomputer maker (forget big blue?... that was a IBM supercomputer) and while the amount of gigaflops a computer needs to make to be classified as a supercomputer has changed over the years, if you where to take a PC or a Mac and put it next to a current day "supercomputer" you would definatly see how fast the home computers get their butts whipped prossessing a large file.
sorry teenyboper, maybe you should learn a little bit about the history of computers before you talk on a adult site like/. There are some wonderful books on the history of the internet and the pioneers of the computing age i could recommend for you.
i ment educationally owned, the ES is goverment owned, in this case the goverment of Japan, The V Tech one was built by the school using school money and was not contracted by our goverment.
Though your right there is a educational value to just about every supercomputer made, even the ones built for balistics and nuclear testing.
lets take that one step further though.... whats the point of a ban when you can cluster them anyway?
The honest truth is we have a goverment thats clueless when it comes to tech. Sure it might change in the future but right now they really dont know what they are doing and do stupid things like this thinking they "saved the world" when all they really did was make a mess.
when the G4 was out the concept of a supercomputer was still the old how many gigaflops it ran, at that point the G4 was considered a supercomputer because it had just broken the old gigaflop barrier.
but with that Apple while advertising it was a supercomputer secretly wanted that concept to change cause it ment they couldnt sell the computer to a LOT of different countries due to export laws and supercomputers (the same thing happpened with Japan and the PS2 I think, or it might have been a urban legend in that case) Intel and AMD where also in on it since their chips ALSO where breaking the gigaflop barrier and where technically classified as "supercomputers" based on old 70's classifications.
Since then the rulling was changed and it will be a long time before any of the makers will reach the current mark with a one or two prosessor machine.
Now in Virginias case, it really IS a supercomputer, actually the third fastest at this point and THE fastest educational supercomputer
before I think the G4 was like 6 or 7 gigaherz slower than the closest "true" supercomputer
I was very impressed at both the 3999 duel gherz xServe and better yet a 2999 xServe node running duel 2gherz !!!!
but the iPod depressed me, I know they could have put it out for cheaper but didnt and I fear it might be the Cube debacle all over again... The cube wasa great machine, just over priced... same with the miniPod.
now granted my girlfriend didnt even complain and im'd me "YAY 75 more dollars for a blue iPod!!!!" so maybe Im missing something that Apple didnt, but I owuld have been feeling better with it at 170 than 240.
I do understand the iBook one, it does seem that the icebook was not as well designed as the old clamshell and a good fact of this is the clamshel DV i have that other than a cd-rom replacement this year is still working fine, vrs. the second iBook I am on because spending almost 800 in repair fees wasnt in the cards vf spanding 1200 for a brand new computer (though in Apples defence the newer icebooks are designed MUCH better from what I can see.
The iPod was is pure bullshit, its stupid lying assholes (you hear that "BROTHERS" who have been proven wrong on numerous occasions but because there is anti-mac sentimet again after a lull in it have gotten the wintel drones out to speak with them. We know your lying, we KNOW you broke two laws and are being investigated in NYC, so the iPod one is just FUD.
oh and BTW my first gen iPod still gets 10 hours:-P.
thats cause unless its the 12 inch model which doesnt have it, the backlite keyboard is standard.
and available software is NOT an issue unless you use AutoCAD, cause just about every other package out there, there is a version for the mac, unless its a very propitary. that plus TONS of unix software kills that argument. Of and did I mention VPC5 whihc works great for your few windows programs. My girlfriends dad even runs OS 2 warp software on his mac with no problems.
and I wont go into the nature of prossesors cause to this day PC users cant get it into their heads that prossesor speeds mean absolutly NOTHING if your computer cant give it info fast enough.
I could go on but as someone who works in a IT enviroment and repairs computers and intigrates them into networks for a living, i would chose a Mac over a PC ANY DAY on our network.
and given the fact that we have 800 macs and only 200 PC's on our network because maintaining them is cheaper (our mac budget is 5,000 our PC budget 15,000 and this is including computer purchasing since our PC side has to replace its Dells almost every year because they had catostrophic failures due to continuous use)
Trust me Macs might cost more on the onset but you look in any major IT industry newspaper and they all say that in the long run you spend more maintaining a PC.
CDMA rules here, Verizon did good to see to that. While certian areas have a few more of one other service carrier than another (especially your major metro areas) Verizon owns more than half the cellphone market here. If your stuff doesnt work with their stuff, your screwed.
What WOULD help Nokia out would be to take Motorola's philosophy on the situation and make a phone that works on all of them (like the v60, or t720 which has a version for every major carrier) THEN the n gage might have a chance.
I for one am not going to buy a 200 game system if one of its features (the cellphone part) CANT be used on my carrier.
was going to post the SAME thing but im glad to see domeone else is smart out there, this isnt game music... its FUCKING 80's songs on a CD.
Now dont get me wrong I love 80's tunes, but if you want to find good honest to good music in a game now you have to look at the FF series or some other games where a guy sits down and composes music.
and while some movie sondtracks do work with pop songs in them... they can NEVER beat any original composition soundtracks like Star Wars, Star Trek TMP (yes the first one beautiful music even if the movie was slow), LOTR, Harry Potter, Dances with Wolves. etc
(rolls eyes) you have GOT to be kidding.... I have seen trekers have more of a life not to do calculations like this... Its
a) a FREAKING MOUSE
b) a FREAKING GAME
man what ever happen to Pac Mac where half the challenge was making sure the joystick worked!!!!!!
you have got to be fucking kidding me, how is ther lawfirm working with them letting them file these suits knowing there is no way in hell they could possibly win!!!!! (was yelling but /. wont let me, I thin there should be a CAPS ok if yelling about a sco article button over there)
RE READ what I said.... and BTW I have a order on the fish for my aquarium through my local pet seller so I would REALLY re-read my first post.
gaaa, stupid (rolls eyes)
Just cause your learned doesnt mean your "smart"
I think you read wrong, i was implying sueing the wackjobs, not the gove... well you get what I am saying.
oh thank GOD someone knows what they are talking about, cause the genetic scared FREAK certainly dont
funny all I got was porn today, having the democrats spam would have been a nice change...
besides as everyone has pointed out

SUPERIOR MY ASS.......
btw, AAC has been shown in a few sound magazines, as well as on Slashdot linked articles as being the superior one.... sooooooo how much money did Billy Boy give you to say it was superior?
wait, my mom is calling to take out the trash... brb....
K WE'll KILL YA!!!!!!!!
I for one am betting all money on either
a) knive cuts cable that somehow found it's way into the area.
b)knives cut last remaining microbe that somehow found its way up onto the platform.... oooops.
when you remeber that HP used to build some of Apple's stylewriter and laserwriter brand printers.
same here I download SO much on comcast and never heard from them. yet people always think they are evil. Heck for a short period of time my girlfriend website was being hosted of a server whos connection was comcast, and she uses hidious ammounts of bandwidth and they never had a problem with it
