At least you're reading the news; that's a start on your way to the truth, but you need to be careful about who you get your information from. There's a difference between religious people killing other people over religious disagreements (Inquisition, witch trials, etc.) and non-religious people killing people over things that aren't religion. I hope you have a barn for all that straw.

Well, for some clarification, you can get a bit of a deal when you buy the whole album, usually $9.99, to make it cheaper than physical media. Similarly, if they were for some reason to have those strange sound effects CDs with 300 tracks on them, they'd still probably give you the whole set of tracks for 9.99.

  13. The thing that bugs me the most on Apple Nixes Live Webcast, Satellite Feed · · Score: 2, Interesting

The thing that bugs me the most is that the rumor sites like Think Secret have people who will report from within the convention center. Given that there will be no stream, the rumor sites will be the only game in town, and in fact, be rewarded for the mass inconvenience they caused for everyone else.

I think that if Think Secret is ultimately responsible for this buy posting illegally obtained information (generally, there is a difference between protecting sources because of fear of physical retribution and protecting sources because they are obviously breaking the law), then TS should be punished. Like, advertisers should realize the kind of scum they are and pull their ads from the site. Sort of like how Bill Maher's show was cancelled at the peak of its ratings because the ads pulled out...

  15. Mac Users Should Pay on Doom 3 Announced for Mac · · Score: 2, Insightful

I know a lot of folks like to pirate games, and I'm not going to pass judgment there. But one note is that Mac games companies need volume to succeed and to want to port games. If you are going to run a game on a Mac, please reward the publisher for their work, so that the publishers do not go out of business or start producing shoddy work. Similarly, when you buy a printer or whatever, make sure to send in the registration card (even if you fake the address, etc.) so that they know that Mac users do buy the hardware, to keep development of drivers active. Samsung was pretty surprised when a lot of people freaked out when they said they weren't going to make drivers for 10.4, thinking nobody used their kit... (I am still begging them to reconsider...)

No, the 15 Gb iPod is 349 euros which is 434.68 US. Which is less than half of your "$1000 for 1 15 Gb iPod" figure. In fact, that last sentence seemed pretty odd when your other assertion was "or more than $500." I'm confused...
