  1. Re:Fast-paced chess on steroids on Playing StarCraft Could Boost Your Cognitive Flexibility · · Score: 2

Many, many more variables to account for in Starcraft than Chess. Also, Chess is turn-based, while SC is real-time, so obviously there is the potential for your move to be countered before you even finish it. Now, the amount of memorization done for Chess is far greater than for SC, especially if a game goes deep. SC is so much more loose and more open-world than Chess that it doesn't lend itself to memorization of moves like Chess and its rigid structure do.

Now just stretch it a bit further and say he ripped it for the purposes of back up, then loaned me that copy? There isn't a lot of difference in these scenarios, and it proves, that yes, you can legally watch movies for free sometimes.

How do we know piracy took a chunk of sales from this movie, or any movie, or any song or video game, for that matter? Intellectual property that has been pirated does not directly equal a lost sale. Often, the pirates were not going to pay either way. They were not going to go see this movie, nor buy the cd, nor buy the video game. Did they get to enjoy something for free? Yes. But that is not a direct correlation to lost profits.

While I would give the same advice, let's not forget that ultimately the child's safety comes down to one or two people: the parents. They will be the ones who will suffer the most if something bad happens to their child. So, the OP doesn't trust his school system to get his daughter on the right bus and wants to take extra precautions. I don't blame him for that. Some of us would react differently, but to each his own. I would probably change school districts. If that isn't an option move to a new town or city. If that isn't an option, go to every school board meeting until everyone is aware how serious you are about your child's safety, and the other children in the district. Bad things could have happened if the daughter had been dropped off in a completely foreign location and tried to find her own home, or panicked, etc. So maybe this parent isn't so over-the-top in his decision on how to protect his child.

Wrong. What we have is a case where individual employees, acting out of mere curiosity, looked up private logs about calls. Clearly a breach of trust.

In the Bush/wiretapping issue, we have a government controlled group of employees doing something they were told to do, for the sake of national security (if you don't agree it was for national security, that is fine, but beside the point here).

If you don't agree that this was just a political dig at Bush and the Whitehouse by Taco, explain to me why not? It wasn't part of the original article in anyway, and even the left-leaning liberal news media hasn't gone so far as to draw a connection.

Texting is a secondary, mostly unnecessary feature that has turned into an incredibly popular feature because of ease of use, privacy options, etc.

So, when they drive up the prices, just for texting, what would you have us do? Cancel texting...big deal, the Telco doesn't care. Cancel your account? You can't, you are locked into a contract. DT If this isn't exactly what I said, then I must be losing my mind. "Experience on what I like gleaned from films I've seen". Hmm...sounds an awful lot like basing it on having seen a prequel to me. Not too mention that I even said it didn't mean I was automatically going to enjoy the film, just that it was a good measure to judge by to determine if you want to pay the money to see the next one. So, basically, you don't do anything differently than I do. Congrats, and thanks for the flame.
